Jeezy Talks At Detroit Detention Center

The Inspiration.

While in Detroit, Pastor Young disseminated some thug motivation at the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Center. Speaking to 120 detainees raging from 8-19 years old, Jeezy talked about capitalizing on their time and transitioning back into society. Wise words from Da Snowman.

  8. Rugah says:

Regardless of fake or not, our youths are in this self-destructive cycle, and at least someone is talking to them. Half the time we criticize but ain’t doing shyt ourselves. My hats off to Jeezy, or even if not him, his road managers and others involved in setting this up. Yeah he raps about certain shyt, and some actors play murderers and gangsters. But when someone has some level of intelligence, they can separate entertainment from real life. He’s an entertainer, like all other entertainers. Fake or not, give some props, because he really didn’t have to do this.

    1. Goodness Gracious says:

Good point, but how can one speak to the youth when he consciously makes music that perpetuates violence and trapping. He is part of the problem, he selling the same poison that got some of the youth locked away.

      1. Rugah says:

Hey GG, I truly understand where you are coming from. There was a time I thought along those lines, then I started to remember my youth growing up in Brooklyn. I heard it all, street and music, saw it all, and not once did I ever think that what rappers were saying in music was the way to live, and neither did a lot of my friends. So for me, if these kids now are letting the music influence more than their fashion trends, then there is a deeper problem with these youth than the music. Again, if we cannot separate entertainment from reality, then there is a problem much more serious than the entertainers. If that’s the case, then a large majority of rappers, singers, actors and comedians should not be opening up there mouths to talk to any youth, because all at some point in time sang, rapped, acted or joked about something that folks would consider taboo to youth. Just my opinion.
