Wale is a dope rapper I don’t know why he is never mention in this era of top rappers. Its Drake,J.Cole and Kendrick I always put Wale as the fourth but you know niggas will cut my head off for typing this shit.SMH
Because people see him as corny, effeminate, and derivative. He overuses cheesy sports metaphors & whines pretty often. His persona turns a lot of people off & his personality is in a lot of ways tied to his music & it’s presentation which in turn turns people off to his music. I hope that helps.

I’ve followed Wale for the longest time, the thing that messes him up is his inconsistency. He talks then backs out, he says he’ll do this and that and for one it doesn’t happen on his schedule EVER and two it never lives up to the amount of hype that he promotes it to be. Then there’s the whole MMG factor..Wale sold out on his original fan base that would ride for him for temporary fan base that would get him 1 gold album and a top 40 hit. It is what it is, but he is now trying to get his old fan base back but honestly his old fan base isn’t looking for him anymore which will lead to TAAN selling about 55-65k first week, it’s too late Wale..it’s too late.
Sincerly, a fan of the old Wale..listen to how you used to rap on bks beats then and now..different..same message but different deliverance..ain’t cutting it for me..MMG messed him up as much as he might want to deny it..he wasn’t patient..More About Nothing was the perfect mixtape, someone would of given him a deal sooner or later..SMH

thats not the case at all. that ”original fanbase” was done with him the second lady gaga ended up on the first single and then he followed that with a single that featured gucci mane. then he sold 20k and got dropped cause his original fanbase wasnt the type to allow a versatile mc to experiment and find his sound in the mainstream landscape. MMG fans are actually more loyal than those fair weather Attention Deficit fans.TAAN will sell at least 150 like gifted did and itĺl be a project that both MMG and AD fans will like.
