Po Up.
No one pours up more than Paul Wall. And so for the title track off The Po Up Poet album, he keeps both his cups and blunts full of that purp. Download the album here.
just came to say sipping syrup aint cool…not even gonna listen to the track
No narcotic is cool… Yall give passes to coke heads…
i mean no, idk who y’all is, but this song isn’t about coke so it didn’t seem relevant. smoke weed i don’t care but hard drugs and over the counters are not cool..so….

We don’t want this type of music.
There’s a difference between promoting something we view to be a poison and an addiction, and promoting something we think is a personal lifestyle choice. Paul Wall and Ab Soul seem to view lean as lifestyle choice to be enjoyed in moderation despite its potentially dangerous side effects. Logic does the same thing with nicotine. Gunplay and Wayne do it with cocaine.
On the other hand, I’ve always been more interested by artists who wrestle with the tension between their self destructive tendencies and their struggle to find the motivation and pathway needed to overcome them. Recovery is a very hard lonely, terrifying road. I wish our culture was more real about what addiction really is. We rarely discuss it. If Lil Wayne dies like Yams or Pimp, within the hip hop community there will be global praise of his career and talent and almost total silence about addiction. We consider discussing that disrespectful. But we don’t consider discussing selling drugs to drug addicts to be disreapectful.
We’re interesting, often very insecure people. But that has nothing to do with this song. Just thinking.
