For over a year, Drake’s petitioned for Sade to appear on his debut album, Thank Me Later. By now, you’d think that someone from his camp would’ve reach out to the singer, right? Wrong. In this interview with the National Post, Sade says she hasn’t even been contacted and purposely strays from collaborations.
On the collaboration rumors with Kanye West and Drake:
I don’t think they have contacted me. I’ve never collaborated because I’ve always avoided working outside my safety zone — I can be exactly who I am and can fail or success within the moment. I feel safe working like I do. I wouldn’t want to work in a situation where I am expected to deliver because I think I wouldn’t deliver.

You could’ve said if he got Em (who’s the biggest artist, more than this “3000”) then your post would make sense. but he didn’t even get Em. That happen cause Jimmy debo’d Drake off his own song and put Em on it.
I’m not a Drake fan but for one thing Sade has going extra hard pushing her own project for the last month or so, so you can’t really blame Drake’s camp for trying to ask her at a time doesn’t seem like you’re putting your project before hers as far as importance.
Also I don’t see this as a definite impossibility for a collab. I know what she said makes it seem unlikely, but unlikely is not impossible. If he could make her see that he’s willing to switch his style up however he needs to in order to fit HER style and what she’s comfortable doing he might just convince her . You know rap niggas have a bad rep for being pushy and hard to get along with. If he sends her a copy of him doing some vocals alongside hers on one of her classics he can show her he’s trying to ride in her lane for a joint not the other way around.

That aside, I meant to say Andre is not an exclusive artist, mega-star, legendary, hard to get, artist a la Sade. My comment was to imply getting mr 3000 is no big deal. Anybody can get him on a record.

When any other female artist can come back at 51 after a 10 year hiatus drop a disgustingly sick anticipated album and go on pretty much every talk/morning/video show and NOT have to do an interview then say something.
Too much hype. He needs to release another mixtape or something. Niggas forget quickly. He needs to remind people why they like him. Round here doin’ Sprite commercials, and club appearances, he needs to get back to the music. Release a single or something. The buzz is bout gone for real. It’s all hype now.

It all sounds good on paper, but if he does that, he’ll show her how much he really appreciates her music, her genius, and how a contribution to his album will make it a classic debut…I also agree with Ms. Adu as well. She’s used to her comfort zone and doesn’t wanna let anyone down. It kinda sounds like she’s sayin’, “No, they didn’t contact me, but if they wanted to do a colab, they shoulda jus asked, but since they didn’t, too bad. Lol!”

For anyone of you to have the audacity to speak against Sade is a feeble attempt at establishing a valid opinion on real music. Nuff said. I see it as a great possibility. He needs to just let her know him so she can open up to him. She a legend who hasn’t made not one big move in her whole career of longevity.
