DMX Celebration Of Life
R.I.P. DMX
The world said their goodbyes to DMX on Saturday (April 24) for his Celebration of Life ceremony at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in New York.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the service was closed to the public with only family and friends in attendance. Thousands of fans however tuned to the live stream and gathered outside of the Barclays following a procession of hundreds of motorcycles, andATVs, anchoring a monster truck that carried X’s blood-red casket from Yonkers to Brooklyn.
The event included a performance from Kanye West’s Sunday Service Choir who performed Soul II Soul’s “Back to Life” Whitney Houston’s “Jesus Loves Me” and the Clark Sisters’ “You Brought the Sunshine”. Family and friends spoke on X’s legacy including his family, children, Swizz Beatz, Jadakiss, Styles P, Eve, Drag-On, Nas, and many others.
A private funeral service will be held on Sunday (April 25) at an undisclosed church in New York.
DMX passed away on April 9 after suffering a heart attack the week before. He was 50.
