LL Cool J Still Won’t Accept Failure

alt

LL Cool J’s E! True Hollywood Story airs tmw tax day at 10 pm EST and on it, The Real Uncle L still points the finger at L.A. Reid’s house for his last CD being a coaster.

The record just really

honestly, you know, didn’t have that support that I wish it would have

had. [I] can’t blame anyone. It was my last record, and I guess for

whatever reason, whether it was quality or business, you know, the

company just decided that they were going to write it off and not

really give it that shot.”

They gave it a shot. They put it out. It sucked. It didn’t hit. They pulled the plug. Life after Jay-Z? Same result Todd. Cue up *Man in The Mirror* and listen closely. This is for your own concern.

I am an LL fan. I grew up on that dude. And quite honestly, the three records he put out before exit 13 were way better. I honestly think record right before exit 13 was slept on. But exit 13 was not good. Get back to that “boom bap” original rap LL. Leave that new, produced by the Dream, bullshit alone. It’s all radio singles type shit homey.

L’s statement leads credibility to Jay Z’s tenure at Def Jam. Also, the single, mixtape joints LL was putting out with 50 were way hotter than the joints on exit 13. That type of real hip hop sound is what is going to stand the test of time.

L.A. will be gone when the trends change and the cycle is over. L.A. Reid really sucks. He’s not a champion of hip hop by any means.
