1st off, everyone RAPPER in this world should expect a challenge!! No matter who you are. Joe Budden was not dissing rappers in particular, he was dissing VIBE magazine for putting out a bullshit list!! Even Meth acknowledge this, so since VIBE has a certain amount of credibility in the eyes of its readers(white kid who might believe this stuff) Joe had to point out exactly where they made mistakes and I agree 100% that Joe is better as a rapper than alot of these people in the game who paid dues or Not. Now this is why as a 30 yo I am fed up with hiphop and it’s so called veterans!!! Meth and Bus wanna talk violence?? WTF you are a so called rapper and you got called out by another rapper.How is that disrespectful? Joe said I am better than Meth and I would chew his head off!It should be now up to Meth to go in the booth and TRY to spit fire in 2009, I doubt he can really do it. Back in the Meth and an aura around him and his team which meant instant fire when he hit the booth those days a long gone. Joey spits fire on MM1-MM2-MM# and most recently going after Saigon, His world play and metaphors are consistent and always relate to current affairs.Meth and Bus need to reflect on the message they are giving the fans by being so ignorant because Meth got called out! my 2 cents IMO
Regardless of your status in hip hop (legend or newbie) if you’re active in the game (albums, mixtapes, guest feats) then you’re NOT AUTOMATICALLY EXEMPT from any potential challengers.
Budden clarified his argument by stating that he feels that he can outrap Method Man. Where is the harm in that? All of a sudden, a new unwritten rule in Hip Hop comes along saying you can’t call out “legends” to a battle? GTFOH.
Has everyone forgotten when KRS-One called out Melle Mel at Latin Quarter Club when KRS was a nobody and Melle was the K.O.N.Y.? KRS specifically used this line against Mel in the battle, which later ended up being from the song “I’m Still #1”.
