Nigel D caught up with Cole at the Heineken Inspire Tour in NYC last night. He talks a bit about his latest mixtape Friday Night Lights, as well as Jay Electronica’s recent signing to Roc Nation. Looks like G.O.O.D. Music has some competition on their hands.
I feel a hip-hip renaissance going down…..
Clique wars……co-sign Harvey
How come in Higher on Friday Nigh Lights Caliperi is edited out, it wasn’t in the original one.

@Pat
was wondering the same thing too
Roc Nation
Good Music
Diplomats
Young Money
D Block
G Unit
Aftermath
2011 I Smell A Massacre
@CVZ1 I think its cuz its a touchy subject with all the shit Calipari did like bribing players and letting Derek Rose play with low SAT scores and shit, but still, kinda dumb that its edited out.
J.Cole>>>>>Jay Electronica

I think the only war(and i say that competitively) would be between Roc Nation, Young Money, and G.O.O.D. Music. Maybe the Unit could get in on it too, but 50 would have to be dropping music again. I say those three because they actually have commercial input on a group level and can actually affect the masses on a grander level, which could be for better or worse. The other ones dont count yet because: Diplomats havent dropped any vintage heatrocks in a minute, D-Block is hard in the streets, but not on a commercial level, and Aftermath mostly always just relied on Eminem solely. Is Busta Rhymes even still on Aftermath?
@Niyemortal
Roc Nation ,Good music & the Young money statement i agree
Diplomats,D Block,G-Unit are in the same level field
& after math has dre,game & eminem
busta aint on it anymore
@killakev
so pretty much Aftermath has Eminem cause Game hasnt done anything and we’ve been waiting on Dre since 01 so idk about that lol
but yeah, i really hope this renaissance thing happens cause Rap needs to get back to the legacy they formally had years ago.
@Belize, agreed
sometimes Jay Elect is too out there for me, maybe signing with Hov the mainstream king can help him strike a better balance
Cosign@ harvey… Hip hop is back.. Well the creative side anyway..
i’m loving this roster Jay’s building over there at Roc Nation.
Yo Hov done built an Army of lyrical assasins! wooooo, shit is about to get real!!
