Jigga Man returned to The Late Show With David Letterman yesterday. He plugged his new book Decoded and talked about his formative years.
RapJaydar returns!
yeah – first
THE REAL JAY-Z = REASONABLE DOUBT / THE BLUEPRINT / THE BLACK ALBUM!
FUCK THIS FAKE JAY-Z!
YOU CAN HATE ME NOW!
@coldblood
Hate urself, drink blood, kill ya self!!!!!
Corny mofos “spilling the feelings in the air”, sounding like a jealous female. Its almost 2011….
simply captivating. the crux of my day so far. way to blame it on reaganomics chump. . inescapable. .. 13 or 16 years old? ? ? he had a talent to make music. …….. EXTREME talent. and a little bit of a drive. 1st album 26 9 to 26 sort of trying. . . . wack wack wack STREET CREDIBILITY – REALLY FROM THE STREET. . . . IS HE REALLY ? ?? ? ? HE SAYS SO > decode me dick
Seriously Jay makes good music but I wouldn’t go so far as to call his work poetry nor art. His catalog is mostly commercial and shallow. Jay has it in him though, he’s just more concerned with making money even…..
Jay admits it on MOMENT OF CLARITY:
And the music I be making
I dumb down for my audience
And double my dollars
They criticize me for it
Yet they all yell “Holla”
If skills sold
Truth be told
I’d probably be
Lyrically
Talib Kweli
Truthfully
I wanna rhyme like Common Sense
(But I did five Mil)
I ain’t been rhyming like Common since
Jay dont take risk, he doesn’t innovate, but damn he can pick a trend and ride it out. From mafiosa (Biggie, Nas, Raekwon), to bandannas (DMX, Jarule, Trech), to throwback jerseys (Big Boi). Can’t knock his hustle one bit, get that paper, just stop frontin like you was in it for the art and not the money.
What? “I knew words would be very important to me”- Jay-z LMAO! He is not explaining himself well in this interview…Larry is trying to get him to elaborate and he is not very good at!
What Jay-z said in Moment of Clarity is what every artist does, he just had the balls to do it and a dumb down Jay-z had accomplished more than you favorite bland ass back pack rapper. Rap is poetry, well Jay-z, Nas,etc type raps, people like Wacka and Gucci ain’t poetry to me. The way that Jay-z use double entandre, wordplay, metaphors is poetry plain and simple and if you disagree you’re a hater plain and simple. Joints like 22 2’s, Beach Chair, etc could be recited at any spoken word spot and viewed as art.
this dude got a big ego, huge ego
i bet he thinks he´s the GOAT
dope – eminem ft royce – echo – leaked
what about all the interscope leaks ? shit
For people who say this n that about Jay, stop it, stop it now! This man has been doing every interview and telling the story about inner city life, about poverty, violence and of course, FUN TIMES!
Jay is doing what should be done, especially for people who come from difficult situations and make something extraordinary of themselves. He is not stuffing money in a car on video like thats fun to see when your extremely poor. He is not entertaining grown ass men bickering and jealous behaviors for the sake of publicity. For those that come from an enviroment such as Jay z, he is telling our story.
Jay is not only mapping out a blueprint musically, but also physically, mentally and emotionally. The blueprint is to follow “my business steps towards sucess and longevity.” Even if you are not a high school grad or a college grad, which Jay was neither, he has an important quote for those insecurities you may have as a result of not making it. “They read a bunch of words, i lived a bunch of life.”
JAYZ YOU ARE A INSPIRATION TO YOUR REAL FANS!
@ College Park GA
I HATE MYSELF, TOO! I LIKE TO DRINK BLOOD! I CAN’T KILL MYSELF… I WAS BORN DEAD!
YOU CAN HATE ME NOW!
^^@A million things run thru my mind aww stop that shit
i have to like jay-z because he´s your inspiration? ..hmm .. no thanks
Its actually a good book, you’ll see some insights into his life. And small tidbits as well. On that track “PSA” with the speech that started “My fellow Americans….”, that’s actually Just Blaze’s voice with effects. That was a real headtrip cuz I thought it was sampled from a real speech. There’s a lot of different notes in there, good read.
@ Raw Rap…what the fuck are you talking about?……oh i get it, you wanted my attention because i believe you feel that i said the most sensible thing that an hater such as ya’ self can easily hate. You know what braud……FUCK YOU!
Lettermen: Does success undermine some street credibility?..
Jay: For guys who are not really from the street….
ETHER to all you haters… POW!
“hov not d.o.c but similar to them letters “no one can do it better”
for the longest before i read that book i thought he was talking about doctor dre because the whole slim/gunit thing was big.
Didnt know he was using the wordplay in effect talking about Docs album “no one can do it better”
how he broke down d’evils was pretty tight.
looks like jay-z shops at target… I KNOW I have that flannel. HA!
It kinda boggles the mind that he is such a genius in business and yet he can hardly get through an interview. He seems like such a loser in real life until he picks up the mic and turns into a microphone gangster. Nice glasses and scarf. lol.
thats a steve urkel look right there.this book better sell alot after all that promotion he has done.he is on another talkshow everyday, radio interviews all the time.selling jackets with decoded lyrics in them and shit
He blames drugs in his hood on the Iran-Contra and Reaganomics…..but he sold drugs himself. ??? Really Jay?
Hov stay winnin nd the sooner u hatin ass niggas understand that better off yall be!
illuminati
That street cred line is so true
Street Creditability problems….. “for guys who are Really NOT from the street” yes a more and more common approach by the music industry to control the artists by finding fake images and stereotypes to sell to sheep waiting in line with wool socks.
Hova!
he makes so many illuminati signs
I wish Jay-Z was actually smart enough to explain how Reagonomics destroyed low-income black neighborhoods. Reagan’s presidency was considered an effective one, but it wasn’t at all. All prosperity was gained on the backs of blacks. I am happy that he linked up with Cornel West though, since West can sufficiently explain these things.
@Timothy Adems
He needed Cornel West during this interview…seriously!
Every new reason to hate on this man continually becomes even more laughable.
new song
i need a doctor – eminem ft. dre
What’s wrong with him he act parniod or on something
