Please don’t go. On Monday, Jazmine Sullivan announced that she was taking an indefinite leave of absence from the game. That would suck, especially after the release of Love Me Back this past November. Jazmine’s dulcet octaves register high throughout the LP. She leads off with her first single “Holding You Down” and immediately flips the script with “10 Seconds”. Her versatility doesn’t stop there. She displays the art of story telling on “Redemption” and puts a twist to a familiar concept on “Stuttering”. Truly, her crowning achievement can be found on”Famous” where Jaz yearns for her chance to shine. Be careful for what you wish for.
Welp. Dope album. Agreed. This means either Trey Songz’ Passion, Pleasure, Pain is #2 or Ryan Leslie’s Transition is #2 and Janelle Monae’s ArchAndroid is #1, right?
It to bad that she is retiring???
I love that record. One of my best favorite R&B album of 2010.

Janelle Monae would have to be #1 if it’s considered an R&B album, which is too limiting IMHO. That shit is way too ahead of it’s time though. People are still sleeping. It’s only a matter of time though before she has that perfect blend of out there and pop music. She’s gonna blow huge…mark my words.

man i don,t know why she is retiring i think she is fine just where she is at but she wants to find herself so i guess that is okay just don,t anything that i wouldn,t think about doing okay cause u are 1 talented sister who can sang her ass off…….nuff said thou…..
