First it was The N.Y. Times. Now, The L.A. Times is giving Pill their seal approval. Here’s what scribe Jeff Weiss had to say: Along with his most recent mix tape, “The Prescription: 4180,” the video [Trap Goin Ham] establishes Pill as perhaps the most promising Atlanta rapper since the Dungeon Family — one capable of toeing the line between book and street smarts, conscious without being condescending, and blessed with a flow as ferocious as the healthcare debate. Funny, I looked up this address too when I heard “Empire State of Mind.” The folks at NYmag paid a visit to 560 State St. in the Boerum Hill section of Brooklyn. On the aforementioned track, Hov mentions the address as a former stash house. Apparently in ’96-’97, Jigga not only laid his hat, but his work, in Apt. 10B. According to lifelong residents, Jay was a respectful and cordial neighbor. Guess they were the soft ones. Heads Up: SRD
In the second clip, Pac says he’s got nothing but love for the East Coast, but gripes about the lack of respect reciprocated. And what’s this about Wu-Tang getting robbed for their jewels? So many questions. So many tears. Props: Broken Cool via Vibe Previously: Unreleased 2 Pac Footage Part. 1 (Vibe)

[vodpod id=Groupvideo.3438680&w=425&h=350&fv=] Five weeks in and Ghost continues to drop a gem on ’em. Today, he sheds light on the simpletons spoiling their ol’ ladys. It ain’t is tricking if you got it. Props: Miss Info
According to the narrator, street cleaners cleared the lane for the Hovimobile during Jigga’s visit to Power 105.1 last week. You’ve come along way, Jay.
Man, this drop from Masspike Miles is seriously smooth from start to finish. The Road Less Traveled totally delivers on that signature R&B vibe, and the production choices across these tracks are just insane. It honestly feels more complete than a lot of full-length albums out right now. Tracks like "Devoted" with Bun B and the title track hit different when you are just cruising around the city late at night. If you are heading out to grab the physical copy or hitting up a late-night listening session across town, trying to flag down reliable taxi services can sometimes be a real hassle, so planning ahead definitely saves the mood. Overall, this project proves why he is such a vital part of the Maybach crew. Definitely keep this one on repeat for a while.
