In the back seat of his jeep, Fif tells the 1515 Boys that with his new mixtape, War Angel LP, he’s in a class all by himself.
“The guy that’s trying to get a record deal right now, he should be writing with very strong passion. Right now, he’s in competition with 50 Cent, and I’m writing like I need a record deal. It’s tough for him. I can write at that pace and achieve what I want. You won’t say there’s a lack of quality in [War Angel]. That’s why I called it an LP instead of a mixtape. They need to hear that.”
And in case you haven’t, check it out here.

“…Talent wise. He’s, like 20 years old and the dude fuckin plays guitar, the keyboard, he writes raps. He’s not only good in writing songs in the sense of just raps, but hooks. He’s fuckin insane. He can sing.. I just worked with him a few weeks ago in the studio and I’m like, ‘ Do you fuckin dance, too? Jesus Christ!‘”— Eminem, XXL, June 2009

SMH at myself for living in the home of Biggie and Jay and missing out. Guess you gotta learn to live with regrets. In the clip above, dead prez sparks the revolution. After the jump, Black Thought, Holiday Styles, and Pharoah Monch followed suit.

Well, not exactly. During his performance last night at 107.9’s Birthday Bash, Algernod gives the crowd one helluva bail out package. Kinda mad I wasn’t there. I’m real dissapointed.

Pardon the bleeps. It’s a family show!
“No dis records; just good music, as both Gucci and Jeezy showed up with big sets. Jeezy did it again, with undoubtedly the biggest surprise and most talked about money moment of the night; bringing out Lil Wayne. The two, who are going out on tour this summer as part of the America’s Most Wanted Music Festival, shook hands center stage. Wayne hit the crowd with a nice set-up jab, his verse and chorus to Birdman’s “Always Strapped,” then ended his mini-set and the show with one of rap’s summer anthems, ‘Every Girl’.”

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but apparently, portions of Mr. Ortiz’s verse on Slaughterhouses’ “D.O.A.” freestyle is roughly four years old. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, indeed.

It's pretty intense reading that Guru released a statement on his health while recovering. Hearing directly from a hip-hop icon after such a scary medical scare gives everyone a massive sigh of relief. You can tell he really values setting the record straight himself. It reminds me of how people want to look and feel their absolute best after going through tough times, whether that's overall wellness or even specific cosmetic refreshes like getting a Blepharoplasty Limassol routine done for a fresh look. Overall, seeing him send love to the fans shows his resilience, and we're all just hoping for a full, speedy recovery for the legend.
