Deep in YN’s hip-hop treasure trove comes a candid interview with Nas at the height of his battle with [insert any rapper/ DJ here]. At the 4:22 mark, Nasir throws Funk Flex off the train.

“From my understanding he was mixing at gay clubs. Now he’s mixing on Hot 97.” Ouch.

After the jump, he talks about the conspiracist Hot 97 and his foiled Summer Jam plans. Smarten up, Nas.

Karen Civil has obtained paperwork filed by Cash Money against several mixtape DJs. Most notably is DJ Drama over The Dedication series. This development comes after reports of Wayne filing a lawsuit against, Quincy Jones III  regarding an upcoming biopic. Good grief, these niggas are down by law for real.

Update: Drama explains the lawsuit

Common Loses Superpowers

Woooha reports that Lonnie’s superpowers have been revoked as the lead role in The Green Lantern movie (No, DJ) scheduled to drop late next year. There’s no word as to why Warner Brothers dropped him from the role, but I’m guessing it’s a “Black thang.” In the comics, the original Lantern was of the Caucasian persuasion. So, the script probably had to be tweeked to fit Com. Ah well, at least he hit the jackpot here. Lucky bastard.

Just when you thought Algernod couldn’t stoop any lower, here is a trailer for his new reality series, Goonette.

Goonette: |goōn|et|-(noun): “If yall don’t know what goonette is. It’s a female, man. Strong, independent, female who fights through her trials and tribulations and she do it with class and grace, man. A female hustler. It’s a person that embodies all of those things from a female aspect, man.

Thanks for the clarification. In the clip, Al’s cameras’ follow a single mother who dances for, well— singles. I can’t make this shit up even if I tried.
Wendy Williams Neuters Bow Wow

Ok, so here’s the skinny. Bow Weezy’s in town promoting his new coaster album, New Jack City II and was scheduled to visit Wendy Williams. Instead, he cancels last minute and appears on Angie Martinez’s show on Hot 97. Safe to say Wendy wasn’t pleased.

“Take him to Angie if you want. Blow this show off if you want. Something is about to happen if you didn’t get the memo. Wait til you see how I act…With all his accolades and what not, it’s more interesting talking to a whore.”

Whoa. Was that directed towards Shad or Nokio’s baby mother? *scratches head* Yo DJ, play that back!

One minute he’s doing a rock album. The next minute, he’s not. A nigga just get confuuused. While I get my mind right, the good folks at 1515 Broadway got their grubby hands on an excerpt from Wayne’s RS cover:

“Honestly? I don’t want to be the best rapper in the world. If I have a

rap album I’m dropping, then I want it to be the best rap album. But I

want to be the best. Period. Now. My favorite rapper hasn’t done what

I’m doing.”

“The rock sh– just comes from what my life is now. I’ve grown

into this person. I woke up one morning and

had three or four women in my bed where I not only didn’t know their

last names, I didn’t know the beginning letter of their first names.

All I know is, they’re the most beautiful women in the world, and I was

in my own place, in whatever city I was in. And I could have thrown a

dart at the map, and I’d probably have a place there too. I knew my

driver was waiting downstairs for me. When my nose finally cleared from

all the weed I had smoked, I smelled food in the kitchen and I knew it

was my chef. Then I look on my phone and see a message and know it’s

from a popular woman everyone knows. And when I went in the studio that

night, I couldn’t just rap…”

This must’ve been after the Carter 2, cause he hasn’t been able to rap since.
