Who can take Labor Day off when some new GFK pops up in your mailbox? Think this is the intro to Wizard Of Poetry. You smart dumb cats know Dennis Cole never needed an instrumental. Hey, it’s not too late to take this joint and add it in your BBQ mix. It’s smokier than your grill.

Wale got a story to tell on this unreleased Cool and Dre production. I’ll let him tell it.

“Shockin’ a bitch, B.”
Meka and the white brother, Shake got the latest and greatest from the mind of Mr. Starks. Here, Tone explains how to make your better half feel good. Let’s see: Pamper her. Soft kisses. Back rubs. Cook. Or take her out to eat somewhere nice. Remember: vacations squash petty domestic beefs. Beach visits preferred. Couple massages. Volleyball. Various hotel activities. Candles in the tub. Lingerie. Pajama sets. Cakes. Luther or Barry CDs. Make love to her to slow jams. Slow fuck. Eat pussy. Don’t suck too hard.
Yup. Got it all. Check! How’d you think I’ve been happily married for four years? I got it covered. Ha!

Roc La Reunion time. With all the hype on BP3, let us not forget rap heads that the Broad Street Bully got a new product out there too. Been meaning to put this up and, thankfully, The Streets reminded me. This thing knocks. I dare you to disagree! I dare ya.

Why is 50 so successful? Well according to the clip above, it’s because he has no fear, homie. Yup, you still have to wait for BISD, but Curtis’ new book with acclaimed author Robert Greene is droppin’ in a few days (Sept 8th). In the words of Kris Parker, “Take the pillow from your head and put a book in it.” Ha!

Update: Uh oh, C.J. got a mixtape comin’ to promote the project. Single, “Flight 187” drops tonight at 10 EST.
This afternoon, I finally found time to quickly thumb through this Chronic re-issue. I really hate the way Tha Row recycles the same classic product over and over and over again. Still, the promise of seven unreleased tracks was enough to intrigue me. Well, I shouldn’t have bothered. I especially don’t like the way they butchered the Snoop joint, “Poor Young Dave” with some cheesy-ass baseline added on top. So I dug in my digital crates, and here you go, the dusty OG version off one of my cassette tapes. Pardon the tape pop at the 1:25 mark. That’s as real as it gets. Ha!

We once had a version of this up. Now we got a trailer. Fair exchange? Oh well. Like the man says, “LET’S GO PEOPLE!” Diddy needs all the help he can get. Smh.

Sorry B. Dot. Here’s another one from my new favorite H Town crew. This joint is one part fun party jam, one part tribute to Mrs. Carter. Pardon that autotune at the end, SC. These kids today say the darndest things!

Conversation probably went a lil’ something like this: “Check this out, Ms. Rhone, you know how it go, first you put me out, then you get my son. Belee Dat! 100.”

Although he was never signed to the house that Russell and Rubin built, Slim Shady still is fittingly payin’ tribute in VH1’s upcoming tribute to Def Jam Records. Em joins other confirmed guests like Mary J. Blige, DMX and Public Enemy. Get the feeling “Jason from Miami” is gonna do an Uncle L tune? Hmm. Show airs Oct. 13. Score another one for Video Hits One.

With all due respect to Dwayne and Curtis, this is the Behind The Music special I can’t wait to see. Mr. Brown!
“After being kicked out of New Edition and independently establishing himself as the undisputed “King of R&B,” Bobby spun himself into a fast life of drugs and women. Brown eventually married American Pop Princess, Whitney Houston and after an 11-year publically turbulent marriage the two divorced. Bobby Brown relays his life in the spotlight and all of the hardships and glories that he’s faced as one of the most controversial entertainers in R&B,” VH1 wrote in a release describing the forthcoming episode. Network sources say the forthcoming episode, documenting Brown’s career, both past and present, will air September 24.
Like I said, I’m there. Might need a Kleenex. Fuckin’ sad tragic tale.

“Yuuup!”
You can debate hottest MC all day, but you gotta admit this Songz kid clearly is the hottest R&B dude in the game. Here he is on the BET couch with Rocsi and some Terrence J stand-in and surprise guest, Ironside I mean, Drake. Did he say Young Money/Cash Money/Universal? Ha! Sylvia wins. Thank Me Later, V-Day 2010? Hmm. I say April.
Seriously, it’s too early for this one. Never heard of Liberation Next, but they got Mr. West on the cover of their second anniversary issue. I’m scared to think what the photos will look like inside. Call me crazy but I rather focus on Rih-Rih’s chi chi’s instead. Ha!

Finally got the tracklist for the home of Drake’s all-star collabo “Forever.” You knew Jigga had to have a place on it, contributing his pre-BP3 reflective joint he performed at Obama’s inauguration. Here’s the More Than A Game line-up. No Doc Dre as was rumored. Smh. 1. Drop It Low (Ester Dean feat. Chris Brown) – Produced by Polow Da Don for Zone 4 2. Forever (Drake feat. Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem) – Produced by Matthew “Boi-1da” Samuels […]
[…] Busta Rhymes’ revelation about the Roxy incident offers fans a rare glimpse into a moment that could have escalated into something much bigger. But thanks to the power of music—and the quick thinking of Kid Capri—the night ended on a high note. It’s a story that reminds us of the way hip hop can unite as much as it divides, and how even in moments of tension, the culture finds a way to move forward. […]
