Damn, today marks 10 years since D’Angelo last put out an album. 10 years! This guy is the male equivalent of Lauryn Hill. A musical genius who couldn’t handle fame who the general public still has their fingers crossed will one day come back and return to the top of the charts. Highly doubtful. You want D’s new shit? Buy his old album. Ha. Urban Daily Update: D and The Roots cover a Gang Starr classic.
Look who brung his hometown squad some much-needed luck. On a Sunday that was all about football for most, The Raptors pulled the upset off and beat The Lakers 106-105. Thanks, Drizzy. ATF
Sean’s seed wasn’t the only one blowin’ out the candles this weekend, DJ Enuff had his own born day bash at New York’s Quo last night. Mr. Combs served as the host with the most while Jim Jones, Talib Kweli and Busta Rhymes also popped up after the jump.

Two couples that the gossip sites are always fiending for, were recently caught showing some TLC. The Carters cuppin’ some oranges as they arrive at an airport in France and below A Keys and Swizzy were spotted in Hawaii. Aloha! Hey don’t hate on Black love you single-minded folks. Get it? Ha. YBF
What a wild and crazy game. An exciting contest that was at times as sloppy as Oscar Madison’s bedroom, it was a gang of fumbles and a key interception by Brett Favre which cost the Vikings in the end. In a postseason where kickers kept choking, N.O.’s Garret Hartley knocked a 40-yard field goal in OT. The final score: Saints 31. Vikes 28. The Superbowl in Miami will feature the two truly best teams in each conference. Indy vs. Nawlins. […]
Hey it’s Championship Game Sunday so it’s only right both games get their own posts. Sadly for us Empire Staters, that after a great start, The Jets succumbed to the simply better Indianapolis Colts. Peyton Manning’s crew 30. Joe Willie Namath’s old sqaud 17. No upset here.
Apparently there was another Sprite Step Off show last night. This one was in Charlotte and Bobby Ray was on the bill. Check out “On Top Of The World” above and after the jump, B. Rich sent a clip of his artist jumpin’ in the crowd lookin’ for some haters. Jennifer Brix
The hometown boy returned to Chicago (yup, Mr. Bridges wasn’t born in the A) as the headliner of a Regal Theater show sponsored by Sprite Step Off. Here ‘Cris runs through three cuts from the extensive catalogue: the ‘bow-throwin’ “Southern Hospitality”, the new single “How Low”, and the always crowd-pleasing “Move Bitch”. Luda! Go Nowhere
