TMZ has discovered that Kelis has filed court papers claiming she’s dead broke and Nas won’t give her a red cent:
“Kelis is asking the judge to order Nas to pay spousal support, child support, all pregnancy-related expenses, and one-half of all medical expenses after the child is born. She also wants $3,500 for the baby nurse after the child’s birth, and $20,000 for strollers, cribs and other baby supplies.
Kelis says, ‘My survival is based on [Nas’] will at this time. If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid.’ The couple was married in 2003. The baby is due this month.
Kelis says she’s entitled to maintain the lifestyle to which she became accustomed during their marriage — they have five homes, fly first class, go to fancy restaurants, and on and on. Most interesting — ‘There were many expensive pieces [of jewelry] such as a princess-cut diamond tennis bracelet that was recently appraised for $190,000. My engagement ring is an approximately nine-carat cushion-cut diamond solitaire. I have numerous watches…such as Cartier, Rolex, Frank Muller and Chopard.”

In a pow wow with the 1515 Boys, Loki say’s he’s taking his time with his new album.
“I’m working. I’m not in a rush,” Ja said about his upcoming album. “I’m doing good work in the community with my Life Foundation. That’s always a plus. But as far as the music side, I’m in the studio working every day. I’m about to go in the studio and work right now and finish up on the album. The album’s coming out incredible. It’s very different. I wanted to make it special. I wanted the album to be out of this world, and it’s definitely shaping up to that. I’m not in a rush. I got a new situation — my Empire Music Group. Gotti’s got Murder Inc. We’re both still together — there’s no separation. We’re both together doing what we do, but I got my own situation and I got new artists. We’re putting it together.”

I always find myself thinking about what I was doing a year ago, two years ago, five years ago today. I never remember exactly where till I find myself imagining where I would be today. I rarely listen to the radio because it’s sort of depressing. Not being able to record is stressful not because I’m a rapper but because that was my way of venting and expressing myself. I get a lot of fan mail and everyone asks me how I’m doing? I say fine, the way I see it I never imagined making it this far with my sanity. Not being able to go somewhere when you want, see your family when you want (on many occasions when you need to), can’t use the phone, take a shower, wear clothes, or even eat when you want – super aggravating. Whenever, which is almost everyday I get visits, a lot of kids ask for autographs. It’s something that I used to do almost everyday but now it actually feels weird, I really feel like an inmate. And as much as I hate to admit it, I really am an inmate. I mean, it kind of grows on you when certain people go out of there way to make you feel like that.
They have this program called YAP (Youth Assistance Program) they keep asking me to join. It’s a program that brings inner city kids to the prison to show them what it’s like to be incarcerated. I hear that every group asks about me but I’m a little hesitant to join. They think it will give the kids a reality check that this can happen to anyone. I however feel that it’ll be more of the kids wanting to see Remy Ma the rapper and because of that they won’t get that I’m actually in jail. So I’m still contemplating. If I figure out a way for them to actually get it, that this is really not a place you would ever want to be whether for 8 years, 8 months, or 8 minutes then I’ll do it.
Everyone in prison isn’t innocent but everyone in prison isn’t guilty. So whether you end up here on purpose or by accident, the pain you’re feeling is still the same. And I can quote a lot “gangsters” by saying that “I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy…”

XXL: How do you feel about Obama being in office? Do you feel like he has the potential to change?
Mos Def: We still gotta see. I mean, I’m glad. In a world where image is everything, in a country where image is everything, it’s nice that the perceived boss looks like people in my family. That’s got very positive effect. Very positive effect. But we’ll see. I’ll watch. I’m watching. I’m just watching.
Where were you when he got elected?
I was in Stockholm with Nas and De La [Soul], we were at work.
You guys were together?
Yeah, it was a weird moment ’cause… it was fresh. We were eating McDonalds. It was like this weird super American moment. We were like in this real swanked out club in Sweden. It was after the show and Nas was there and De La was there. We was hungry and didn’t have no food so we went out to McDonalds and brought it back. Some African people there, they started crying.
Did you cry?
Nah, I was just like, “okay.”

I hesitated puttin’ this up late last week when it first broke, but it’s official that Usher has filed divorce papers against Tameka-Foster Raymond. The couple were married for less than two years and have two kids. Remember when ole boy wilded out on TRL last year? Well if ya talk about it, be about it.
