Lil Wayne’s Not Doing A Rock Album
wayneguitar-rapradar.com

Baby recently spoke to Vibe‘s Benjamin Meadows-Ingram and shot down rumors of his son Dwayne doing a rock ‘n’ roll album, called Rebirth.

“It’s not a rock record…that’s what I think people are getting misunderstood. When you speaking about a rock record, you think he’s got a guitar and everything, but it’s not that. It’s going to be some of those types of beats, but it’s just great music. I don’t think no artist can do what he about to get done. My son is a rock star.”

Great. “Prom Queen” was giving me an ear infection.

Unreleased Cam’ron: “Spend The Night”

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BF2UYaXOvE]

“The clothes from Italy/ The coke from Sicily/ I’m talkin’ literally/ C’mon now, stop kiddin’ me.”

As anticipation for Crime Pays continues to build, another Cam’ron Giles song appears. Despite more leaks than my old apt on 182 Norfolk, I’m sure the Diplomats founder will insist this will not touch the final CD. Oh well, no such thing as too much Killa.

“Get my cover in the back.”

Nothing groundbreaking here. Just your boy Cons and his trusty Kyte cam lettin’ us into a secret session with Styles P and Statik. They’re promising a “classic” here. I’ll just take a good, solid joint. Either way, I’ll give it a listen.

Props: Show Off. Your basement has great choice in magazine posters. Ha!

New Keith Murray x Canibus Album On The Way

[vodpod id=ExternalVideo.891865&w=425&h=350&fv=]

Didn’t see this one coming. Erick tells MTV that a new Canibus and Keith Murray collaborative album is in the works.

“This is only for heads. I don’t think it’s not going to be one radio record on there. Just rhymes and concepts of rhymes.”

Translation: It’s basically a mixtape.

At this point in their careers, haven’t Bis and Murray already proven themselves as true wordsmiths? Here’s a crazy idea: Why not create an album that everyone can enjoy? No? Fine. Keep it “real” on your time.

DJ Quik and Kurupt Make An Album
Quik Kurupt RapRadar.com

Apparently Terrance Martin isn’t the only producer Kurupt has been makin’ music with. It’s just been announced that the Dogg Pound MC has paired with legendary West Coast trackmaster, DJ Quik for The Blaqkout due June 9. Take that Red and Meth!

In a press release, Quik explains why the album became a reality:

“Kurupt does in rap what I do in music. It just made sense. Kurupt is a gangster rapper in the sense of being raw, bare-bones and uncut. I wanted to do music that evoked certain feelings and could show his microphone superiority.”

Highlighted cuts to check for include the title track, the explosive “9 Times Out Of Ten” and “Hey Playa” (Moroccan Blues) which includes a sample from a song Quik heard in a Morocco episode of this show.

We all know Mr. Blake loves them foreign sounds.

Omarion’s Sex Tape?
Omarion YBF RapRadar.com

These lil R&B niggas will do anything to stay relevant won’t they. Fresh off his haircut, Mr. You Got Served appears to be swagger jackin’ Ray J and videotaped some X-rated fun with his new ex-stripper wife and her special friend. Oh my.

For all the raunchy, photo-filled foolery: YBF

Bun B Rejects Pharrell’s Production
UGK RapRadar.com

In an article in today’s Houston Chronicle celebrating the release of the final UGK album, Bun explains why he turned down outside contributors for the project like Pharrell from The Neptunes.

“People needed to hear the UGK they were used to, the way they were used to hearing it,” Bun says. “Pharrell (Williams of the Neptunes) is a really good friend who really wanted to contribute to this album. We were concerned with it fitting in sonically. You don’t just do things just because you can. And I didn’t want it to seem like I was taking advantage of the situation by working with people that I wanted to work with.”

Plus, Skateboard P’s been slippin’ and his recent sonic tunes haven’t exactly been hard to resist. No one’s payin’ a ransom for his tracks anymore. Good call, Bun! Ha!
