Hands down, this is probably the best post from any website this year. Yeah, I said it. Complex and Hot 97’s Cipha Sounds compiled a list of the 75 greatest records from the famed Tunnel night club. The New York hot spot closed its doors in 2001. Included with each entry are anecdotes from Cipha who opened up for Funkmaster Flex. Some of them are new to me. Read ’em below and peep the list here. Can someone make this […]

Trey Songz’s new album Passion, Pain & Pleasure will be available on September 14th. Good Day, eh? To usher it in the right way, here’s his first single featuring Nicki Minaj…and her weird-ass voices. Bottoms up—hopefully you can stomach it. hhnm
M.I.A. was on DJ Skee‘s show on KIIS FM and talked about her collaboration with Nicki Minaj. She says Nick “runs rap” and applauds her diligence. That’s girl power for ya.

?uestlove’s got a story to tell. The Roots drummer gives a recount to Plato Putas of his experience with Lauryn Hill’s hot sauce. Apparently the L-Boogie rolls with her own herbs and spices. Let me just say that I have the best fans in the world! The devotion, dedication, support, love, and most of all, prayers […]

Performances included every major artist in the game, but most importantly, Run-DMC. In the city […]

New York Yankee owner George Steinbrenner died this morning in Tampa, Florida after suffering a heart attack. The Boss recently celebrated his 80th birthday on July 4th. Under his ownership, the Yanks scored seven World Series titles and 11 pennants. Known for his colorful personality and fiery demeanor (get it?), Steinbrenner was parodied several times on Seinfeld. Ironically in hip-hop, everyone wanted to be him. Right, Dame?
