Aubrey tells Sway that he forgot about his bum knee in the City of Brotherly Love.

“What the footage doesn’t show is that I actually came out of the sky that night,” he told MTV News. “I was 20 feet in the air on a little platform. Philadelphia was the only sold-out show on the tour — 25,000 people. And before they see me, I see them for about five seconds. I was staring out into the crowd and I literally … when I landed on that platform, I blacked out and really forgot I was injured. I was just so full of adrenaline, so happy to be there, it kind of set in for me. I remember on the I Am Music tour, the reaction was great. But these were my songs. These are songs people know and love and we really made this happen in a short time. I was just enjoying myself. I had the mic and I was really going. And when ‘Best I Ever Had’ came on, I felt like dancing. It was a great moment. I wanted to run across stage, I wanted to jump into the crowd.”

Before Hurricane Katrina rocked the south, Katrina Laverne’s landfall swept the nation. 11 years ago, the Miami sexpot traded barbs alongside Trick Daddy on “Nann Nigga” off his sophomore album, www.thug.com. In a true battle of the sexes, Trina emerged as the victor with lewd lines like, “quick to deep throat a dick, and let another bitch straight lick the clit.” A contract with Slip-N-Slide soon followed and so did a successful recording career. With her fifth album, Amazin’ scheduled for a September release, the diamond princess talks to Rap Radar about her flawless verse.

When I did the record I believe I was like 19, 18 [years-old]. I been knowing Trick for years. I’d be in the studio with [him] and just hang out and listen to the music they made. I was really just working and doing real estate, so really [rap] was no where in my mind.  He actually called me to come and listen to this verse he had. He thought I would sound good cursing him out on it. I didn’t think it was a great idea. I laughed and then and I actually went and listened to the record, I was like, “Oh my goodness, this is crazy!” 

I was really sitting up there thinking like I want the craziest thing that I can think of to say and it was just so far off .  I have a potty mouth and I do say stuff that’s sly. That’s just me being who I am. When I did it, I was just like “OK, I’m going to go there, I’m going to go so far.” I’m going to do something I don’t even think I would do. When I listen to the record, I was like I do not believe I said that. I was like “Oh my God!” 

[Trick] was cracking up. He thought I was hilarious. He was like, “See, I told you. You just got a filthy mouth and you talk trash and you just crazy.”  I was just laughing and he was like, “You just showed me out. ” He’s a fun person and we had a lot of fun doing it.  I was like I’m not performing this record. He was like, “Aight, I wont never ask you” He set me up and he did. It’s so funny, because when I perform that record, I don’t even have to say nothing everybody knows the words. It’s just crazy the impact it had on women and people in general. It was a big record for him, the summer in the South and the scene. —As Told To Brian “B.Dot” Miller
