Drake Talks About Wayne’s Writing Process

[vodpod id=ExternalVideo.891779&w=425&h=350&fv=]

I’m not buying this, but Drake talks to the 1515 Boys about Dwayne’s Jigga-like writing process and his own.

“Wayne does this thing and it’s scary and it’s unfair and I’m jealous of it for a million years. He sits there and you know they’ll be playing a record and he’ll just sit there like this and kinda be like, chilling and might get up, eat some candy and do whatever he does and then, it’ll take 40 minutes maybe if that, sometimes 15 and he’ll hop up and head right for the booth and lay like one or two or three of the most amazing verses that you ever heard with lines that’s like- What just happened did you just make a movie in your head like? Like what just happened? Cause you just painted the most colorful picture for this record. Wayne is so good at that, man. Like, I’m in awe of that dude…but for me, I take my time, I write.”

Update: Clipse Former Manager Charged In $10 Million Drug Ring
alt

Whoa. Guess I gotta start being nicer to these guys. The Virginian-Pilot reports:

UPDATE: We got the papers, got the papers.

“The owner of a defunct Virginia Beach nightclub who has ties to the rap stars Clipse has been charged in U.S. District Court with leading a $10 million drug ring.

The 82-count indictment charges Gonzalez, 34, of Chesapeake and six others in a drug conspiracy that stretches from Hampton Roads across the country to South America and back. Police and federal agents were still searching for Gonzalez, also known as Geezy, as of late Monday

Federal agents recorded many of the drug sales, according to the indictment.

In one call, Gonzalez is told by one of his suppliers that, ‘I’m here with my boy and he’s giving me something right now… it’s really nice… like half in buds… half in shake,’ the indictment says.

Lil Wayne Cracks TIME’s Most Influential Top 20
lil wayne-rapradar.com

In TIME’s annual most influential list, Dwayne beat out folks like Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin to take the number 12 spot.

“His Grammy-winning, multiplatinum album, Tha Carter III,

was the perfect showcase for Wayne’s raw, hilarious and often

outer-planetary rap style. And his Southern-gentleman act is legit, as

evidenced by his slightly flirty interview with Katie Couric.”

He’s unstoppable.

Fat Joe x Big Pun Perform “Twinz (Deep Cover ’98)” In Miami

“In Miami, Pun shoulda won the Grammy.”

Here’s vintage footage of Pun and Joe performing “Twinz” in the 305. Miss Info’s has the skinny via Godfree:

“This show at The Temple nightclub was called “South Bronx Invades South Beach”

created by DJ Khaled back in March 6, 1998. I was one of the promoters,

thats why how I manage to bring my video camera to the club at that

time. On this night, the lineup featuring Big Pun, Fat Joe, Cuban Link, DJ Tony Touch & also DJ Craze (the only solo DJ in history to claim the World DMC Champion trophy 3 times consecutively.) In

this clip, Fat Joe performs some classic joints like “Flow Joe”, “I

Shot Ya” and my favorite “Twins Deep Cover” with Big Pun. This was before Pun’s 1st album and you can hear the crowd go crazy when he comes out.”

This footage comes at great time with tomorrow marking the 11th anniversary of Pun’s Capital Punishment.
