Down With The Crew Called DTP: Lil Scrappy
Scrappy RapRadar.com

Apparently Lil Scrappy is no longer jockin’ Lil Jon or Curtis and has pulled his wagon up to the house that Luda’s built. The announcement was made at last night’s Young Jeezy concert in the ATL. A great rap free agent move? Darryl Richards gets rich or dies tryin’? I don’t know about you, but I’m over dude. Three strikes and you’re out. Toss him off the stage like an Orlando cop did. Ha!

New Music: Asher Roth Ft. Cee-Lo “Be By Myself”
Asher Cee-Lo RapRadar.com

Ok, you loved College (well at least the mainsteam did. Ha!) but will you love this? This is the official second single from Asher Roth’s debut. Gonna be interesting to see if this connects. I didn’t like it that much at first listen, but it’s growing on me. It’s from the Andre 3000 school of funk. Rock on.

True Story: I wanted to go to this. But Joey I.E. and I couldn’t work out the clearance. Hip-hop spent the weekend in Ohio. Ha!

Damn, Nigel beats us to the punch. Ha!

Shawty Lo’s Down With The King

Here is a pic of T.I. and Shawty Lo backstage at Young Jeezy’s concert at the Philips Arena in the ATL last night. Shawty Lo looks thrilled to be friends with T.I. again and almost has this, “Ok he likes me now…I better be careful” look on his face. For some reason, this photo reminds me of the one featuring The Game and the guy that got knocked out by the barber:

Run-DMC’s Secret Weapon
Larry Smith RapRadar.com

With all the hoopla and the emotional speeches, Run-DMC and company forgot to thank a producer who played a huge role in building their sound. Larry “King of The Beats” Smith is the most underrated trackmaster of all time. He crafted classics for Darryl and Joe (“It’s Like That,” “Sucker MC’s,” “Rock Box”), Whodini (“Friends,” “Five Minutes of Funk,” “Freaks Come Out At Night”) and Maino’s “Hi Haters” jacked his Jimmy Spicer hit “Money (Dollar Bill Y’all).” You kids got a lot to learn and I have to teach. Ha!
