I was Music Editor at The Source back when The Firm mania took over hip-hop. Them damn meetings with Dave Mays and his “buddy” Commissioner Steve Stoute. Having to write a painful Sure Shot single of “Firm Biz.” The behind the scenes drama of the infamous split cover with Jay-Z when Dame and them making a lil house call. Ha! Too many stories.
Yeah, the final result from this rap supergroup didn’t live up to the tremendous hype that was created but I can now fondly look back on that time on my life and acknowledge this shit was pretty fun. Watch this and pretend you were part of it.

Consider this is a public service announcement:
ATTENTION PRODUCERS!!! — G.O.O.D Music/Universal’s artist Kid Cudi b.k.a. The Man on the Moon, needs beats ASAP to complete his album. But, not just any beats, he needs uptempo hip-hop beats with NO HOOKS. So, if you think you got what it takes, submit your beats (max 3 per producer) to:
Make sure you include your contact info and the names of your tracks so we can reach out to you if you qualify.
If you’d like more information about Kid Cudi or catch his vibe, visit: www.kidcudi.com
For everyone else, forward your shitty tracks to Joe Budden. He hearts bad production.
The eternal laughingstock of rap continues to play himself at last night’s MTV Australia Awards. Why does this guy get invited to shit?
Here is the anticipated cut “Harry Asshole” off, UGK 4 Life.

During a recent taping for 60 Minutes, Hovi’s homie sinks an under-hand half court shot. “I’m one take baby, that’s all. I’m just one take.”

Cam blesses Now Wut with the exclusive. He makes it crystal clear he’s not patchin’ it up with Jimmy and Juelz.
Dre from Nah Right got his transcribe on:
“Look, I hear the DJs, I hear the fans, I hear everybody. I’m not doing a Diplomats album. I’m not rhyming with Jim or Juelz or nothing. I wish them all the best of luck. Accept it people. The people don’t wanna seem to accept it. I don’t have time to do that, it’s not happening, I’m not doing it. That’s why I called you [NowWutTV] here, cuz I know you’ll get it across the world. And hopefully the people will get it in their head. Cam is doing Cam. I’m not doing no Diplomat Immunity 3 album. I hope they’ll do it and I wish them luck. Stop dreaming. Stop hoping. Stop wishing. Stop imagining. I’m not doing it. Official. What’s today’s date? Thursday, March 26th, 2009: Cameron Giles, aka Spacely Sprockets aka Jaffe Joe aka Killa Cam aka KFC, whatever you wanna call me, I am not doing no Diplomat 3 album. That’s it.”
Guess if Jim Jones actually shows up on Angie Martinez’s show today it could get really interesting. Really fast. Maybe Miss Info can stick around the studio just so we can be ensured of some classic radio.
The Dip Set saga continues.
Note: I can’t just embed vids like the rest of you kids. So WSHH gets the look for now.
The New York Times continues their 50 mania coverage. In an article yesterday on big stars who don’t actually do their own tweets. Broadway, the founder of ThisIs50.com gets his shine on:
“My ambition leads me through a tunnel that never ends.”
Those were 50 Cent’s words, but it was not exactly him tweeting. Rather, it was Chris Romero, known as Broadway, the director of the rapper’s Web empire, who typed in those words after reading them in an interview.
“He doesn’t actually use Twitter,” Mr. Romero said of 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, “but the energy of it is all him.”
Ha! B.Dot captures my energy when I’m too lazy to open up my laptop.
I really appreciate how you’ve explained this workout in a simple, easy-to-follow way. Travel workout cards are such a clever find—especially for people who want to stay active on the go or mix things up at home. The fact that you can track your time and work on improving it later adds a fun and motivating element. Air squats, push-ups, and sit-ups are such a solid combination for a quick full-body workout.private yacht charter
