Of course, the chocolate boy wonder had to make time to pay his respects. Remember the two do battle next Sunday May 2 in Japan. Who’s comin’ with me? Ha!
As the clock winds down for Game’s The R.E.D. Room mixtape, DJ Skee makes Game’s “400 Bars” a bit more interesting by mixing it with over 50 random beats. Better grab a Snickers, cause you’re not going anywhere for the next 20 minutes. Mr. X
[sparkart-clique site=”rap_radar” video=”preem_on_guru_visit”] I was honored and humbled to be an invited guest to DJ Premier’s Live From Headqcourterz Hip Hop Nation radio show last Friday night. Not only did Preem pay musical homage to his partner, he more importantly, for the first time, revealed that he did visit Guru in his last days. The details are heartbreaking. Damn you, Solar. In his own words, he says: “A mixtape can’t be the songs that don’t make your album, or songs that aren’t good enough to make your album make your mixtape — unless you’re that good. There aren’t that many people that are that good. I’m not that good. That mixtape [So Far Gone] is me working my hardest. It wasn’t ‘Oh, here are the songs […]
It is so heartbreaking to hear DJ Premier break the news that DJ Kool Herc’s health is ailing, as he is literally the founding father who laid down the blueprint for hip-hop culture. Thinking about how someone who built an entire global phenomenon can end up struggling with medical expenses or failing health really puts things into perspective regarding healthcare challenges. When you look at how people navigate health or wellness procedures worldwide—whether someone is researching cosmetic treatments like Liposuction Cyprus or seeking urgent medical care—it underscores how essential access to reliable medical help and proper support systems really is. Kool Herc gave us the breaks, the block parties, and the entire movement that shaped generations of music lovers, so seeing the community step up to show love while DJ Premier brings awareness to his condition is the very least we can do. Sending strength and prayers to Kool Herc for a full recovery, and massive respect to DJ Premier for using his platform to make sure a true pioneer gets the support and respect he deserves.
