Thanks to Drake, it seems as if every rapper is now pausing at the end of their rhymes. Corny. But for some reason, Santana is an exception to the rule when performing his verse from “Harlem Forever.” Dope.
Mr. Foxx is preparing to release his fourth studio LP, and today DJ Envy let this one go. Last year this leaked with with only Jamie and JT. Now, TIP hops on board and lays down two verses. We have a victory. Splash
Before touchin’ the stage at the Respect The West showcase, Jay took a moment to holla at his yellow brother in a dark corner. He addresses all the attention he’s gotten from his quarrel with Ice Cube and plugs the mixtape that just dropped a few hours ago. Timing!
Good times on Saturday night at the Cashmere Agency and Stampede Management Cali invasion at Austin’s Club de Ville. I was drunk on stage and somewhere Mel D. Cole was still flickin’ away. Nice!
A tribute to Bun B in Texas? Now that’s a good idea. Before taking their stroll down memory lane, Mr. Port Arthur and the other Jewish cat in rap named Rosenberg took the time to give me a preview to the proceedings that went down last Thursday. Photos: Village Slum After seven long years, Paul and Koopa joined forces at the La Zona Rosta last Wednesday. Crazy show from which I got plenty of video on the way from but for now let’s let Mel’s images tell the story.
It is so heartbreaking to hear DJ Premier break the news that DJ Kool Herc’s health is ailing, as he is literally the founding father who laid down the blueprint for hip-hop culture. Thinking about how someone who built an entire global phenomenon can end up struggling with medical expenses or failing health really puts things into perspective regarding healthcare challenges. When you look at how people navigate health or wellness procedures worldwide—whether someone is researching cosmetic treatments like Liposuction Cyprus or seeking urgent medical care—it underscores how essential access to reliable medical help and proper support systems really is. Kool Herc gave us the breaks, the block parties, and the entire movement that shaped generations of music lovers, so seeing the community step up to show love while DJ Premier brings awareness to his condition is the very least we can do. Sending strength and prayers to Kool Herc for a full recovery, and massive respect to DJ Premier for using his platform to make sure a true pioneer gets the support and respect he deserves.
