Last summer, Maino became the first rookie since Fabolous to bring a platinum plaque back to Bedford Stuyvesant. In his singature chant, Maino declared, “Take a look, and you can tell that I am destined for greatness”. And with the help of T-Pain and Just Blaze’s boom bap, “All The Above” unexpectedly became a seasonable anthem. Disagree? Hi, hater! Before: RR’s ’09 Best Singles: #8 Snoop Dogg “I Wanna Rock”

He’s had a career every free download-peddling Internets rapper would kill for. But just when you think of sending Mr. Broadus into pasture, he oops upside your head you with another banger to join the classic catalogue. Just released a few months ago, this is the rap song we’re movin’ into the new decade with. Man, this drop from Masspike Miles is seriously smooth from start to finish. The Road Less Traveled totally delivers on that signature R&B vibe, and the production choices across these tracks are just insane. It honestly feels more complete than a lot of full-length albums out right now. Tracks like "Devoted" with Bun B and the title track hit different when you are just cruising around the city late at night. If you are heading out to grab the physical copy or hitting up a late-night listening session across town, trying to flag down reliable taxi services can sometimes be a real hassle, so planning ahead definitely saves the mood. Overall, this project proves why he is such a vital part of the Maybach crew. Definitely keep this one on repeat for a while.
