[vodpod id=Groupvideo.3622864&w=425&h=350&fv=] Since we’re seemingly all about award shows this morning, here’s another tease from the Def Jam gala which airs this Tuesday. The Dog tryin’ to get the party started looked real lame in person and appears slightly better on screen. Still, dancers on a Dark Man set? Fuck outta here!
Barbie was in the building for BET. Props: Nigel D, you crazy for this one! And um, she can rhyme too. At least, Bobby Ray thinks so. Bonus: Last year’s business.
What’s a Guru? This was shot at the taping of one of BET’s rhyme cyphers for the Awards show. My Kingdom for some Flip Cam footage! DJMano Bonus: At the 41 sec mark, Preemo talks about the pairing. Rakim was supposed to be there too. Damn!
After pullin’ the big surprise at the BET Hip-Hop Awards with Young Jizzle, Jay-Z kept the private jet runnin’ and touched down in Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky for day 2 of the BP3 tour. Guess the album closer has become part of the setlist. Bonus: Hov got it in Ohio last November. I say, support our President! Still.
“I’m a big fan of the Soulja Boy dude.” Backstage at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, two rap icons chop it up and have a nice lil convo about the rookies in the game. Damn, I’m old enough to remember when Carlton named Trevor. Ha! Props: Hip Hop Gods Bonus: Chuck and Jeezy gave Cube his due. IPRMKTG
At the 13 second mark, Mrs. Carter tries to stop Lil Mama from crashing her husband’s set at the VMA’s last month. Yep, three weeks later and we’re still dumbfounded. Omen Update: Courtesy of Rap Up.
Suffering from noise poisoning? Well, alleviate the pain with a fresh dose of Algernod and Ms. Keri Baby. Take two listens and call me in the morning. Props: NR
Guess the opening performance at tonight’s taping was “as real as it gets.” Damn you, Stephen Hil. Props: BMimms Update: Grouchy Greg with the bootleg. Update 2: Guess he did “D.O.A.” too. Props: Jay-Z Journal
Last night at Penn State University marked the first stop on The Blueprint 3 tour. In the clip above, J.Cole performed “A Star Is Born” for the first time with Jay-Z. The quality is beyond shitty, but hopefully some better footage surfaces. (UPDATED!) After the jump, Hov invites a chanteuse on stage for “Cant Knock The Hustle.” Props: Wedoitright
I don’t know what’s funnier, the artwork or the title. Hopefully La Flare gets down to business on his third installment with DJ Drama. Download here. Tracklist after the cut. OS
Masego continues to show his creativity and versatility with Studying Abroad: Extended Stay. The combination of live instrumentation, smooth vocals, and West Indian influences makes this project an exciting listening experience. Adding new collaborations with talented artists gives fans even more reasons to explore the album and appreciate its musical diversity. I also appreciate how music and learning can connect through creativity, exploration, and new experiences. In the same way that listeners explore different musical styles, people can improve their practical skills by learning useful techniques such as "How to calculate proportions easily". Understanding proportions can make everyday calculations, comparisons, and problem solving much simpler. This is a great reminder that exploring new ideas can be rewarding in music, education, and daily life.
