The Great Hangover Tour concluded last night in Philly so it stands that the man who named the tour, only popped up for one show. That was four days ago in Norfolk, VA. The following footage ain’t great, but it’s worth noting. Above is the concert’s encore of “Welcome To Heartbreak” and, after the jump, the crowd goes ape shit when ‘Ye first comes out during “Make Her Say.”

Looks like Beans has his mind right, money right, and is “Ready For War”. And for good measure, he brought Freeway and Young Chris out to the front line as well. Word is Sigel renamed The Focus to The Broad Street Bully. Either way, I’m sure Beans’ bars will remain the same. (That’s a good thing y’all).

In the final ep, 90’s hip-hop talent from different regions get shine (Detroit’s Eminem, ATL’s OutKast, etc.) and the struggles of female MCs are explored. Too bad that part is just as relevant today.

Had this in the stash so long, I forgot I had it. This was an excellent 2004 documentary on our culture that aired on VH1 and was written by my good friend, Bill Adler (google him, kids!). There were five episodes and this was the first entitled Back In The Day. Like that 20/20 special RR brought you, we’re here to educate as well as entertain. All y’all do is steal content. Ha!

This excerpt does an excellent job of balancing mystery with character development. Sarah’s transformation feels believable and unsettling at the same time, and Nico’s internal struggle adds emotional realism. The fact that she forgets both trivial details and life-altering events shows how completely her past has been erased. I love how the story hints that the truth is still buried beneath the surface, creating a sense that the past will inevitably resurface, no matter how much is forgotten. tvg
