The L.A. Times chopped it up with the Pharacyde on reuniting and how it feels so good.
People shouldn’t blame it on Fatlip. We were all young and we had
success come at us really fast. We were trying to maneuver through the
madness and we weren’t always making good decisions. There wasn’t one
moment when Fatlip or any of us did something that specifically caused
a breakup. It was a series of things: from record company politics to
management to everyone’s individual egos. We’d done a lot of tours and
we were curious to know what it would be like to make our own music.
At the end of the day we’re all artists, not Pharcyde employees.
It’s always hard to keep four individuals on the same page, but if
you’re supposed to come back together you do, and that’s what’s
happened.
‘Forever Young’ is incredible, and I want you to do a few more. I want
you to do the chorus for ‘She’s Like That All the Time.’ Just outright
do the chorus.”

Man, this drop from Masspike Miles is seriously smooth from start to finish. The Road Less Traveled totally delivers on that signature R&B vibe, and the production choices across these tracks are just insane. It honestly feels more complete than a lot of full-length albums out right now. Tracks like "Devoted" with Bun B and the title track hit different when you are just cruising around the city late at night. If you are heading out to grab the physical copy or hitting up a late-night listening session across town, trying to flag down reliable taxi services can sometimes be a real hassle, so planning ahead definitely saves the mood. Overall, this project proves why he is such a vital part of the Maybach crew. Definitely keep this one on repeat for a while.
