This June, hip-hop icon Nas and reggae star, Damian Marley plan to release their collaborative album, Distant Relatives. Though the announcement came as a shock, their chemistry proved positive on the mash up, “Road to Zion.” In part one of Double R’s feature, Nas discusses their collision course, his fixation with the motherland, and why a collaborative album with AZ never materialized.

Had a wonderful time at last night’s Noisemakers event where Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg conducted a thorough interview with Q-Tip. Got a lot of great flip cam footage on the way. But first, there was a lil behind the scenes drama that needed to be documented. Let’s just say things got off to a bumpy start. Ha!

Here’s another treat off Big Sean’s mixtape which drops later today. You know the student had to touch this tune from the teacher. I honestly had low expectations about this project. But, I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far. Go Big Sean, I ain’t mad at cha. Ha!

Looks like Weezy ain’t the only brother on front street. Ray J took the Playboy challenge and had this to say about the infamous romp that made him a household name.
“The memorable sexual experience that keeps popping up in my memory is the time with my ex-girlfriend [Kim Kardashian] in Cabo, Mexico. It was memorable because I put it on my video camera and the whole world is looking at it. I just can’t get it outta my head. I don’t think nobody else can either. It was just a fun time together. We were young, we were both 21 and we just had a good time as couples and just wilding out. We just got down with massages, getting drunk and getting down in the Jacuzzi bath.”

“What is on there, Crisco?”
Not that they got all the Dip Set drama out the way, two old friends, Minya Oh and Cameron Giles candidly chop it up about fashion, personal style, hygiene, summersaulting stewardesses and Killa’s big booty-filled blackberry. Yup, this is pretty entertaining. Watch: It’ll make your bad day not so bad. Ha!
This is an interesting collaboration and a nice way to keep fans excited about what J. Cole might have coming next. His ability to bring a distinctive style and thoughtful delivery to different artists’ projects always makes his verses worth listening to. The collaboration with Adam Levine’s band sounds like a refreshing combination, and hopefully it does lead to more new music from Cole soon. Fans are always eager to hear what direction he takes next, much like the anticipation surrounding a goldendoodle when choosing a lovable companion.
