The Radio Push begins.
The Radio Push begins.
Like Che Guevara with bling on.
Not as crazy as his previous visit to Hot 97, but this morning Bobby Ray returned to the show with Rosenberg and Ebro. On this go round, they spoke on his Underground Luxury, Kendrick Lamar and of course mainstream success.
Rick Ross made his Juan Epstein debut recently on Hot 97. According to Mr. Rosenberg, this one’s a doozy. Arguably the most in depth Ross interview to date. Many highlights here, but my personal favorite is Ross’ story about meeting Kanye back when he “had cyphers with Yeezy before his mouth wired”. Thank you Ross! Self Made 3 in stores now!
Teyana Taylor called Hot Nine yesterday morning to talk about her feud with Rihanna. She says she wasn’t amused by the parody video and called Ri Ri a cyber bully. What a bad gal.
Before Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers 3 listening session last night, he returned to Funkmaster Flex’s show on Hot 97. If memory serves correct, some of those bars were heard during the listening. Stay tuned.
DJ Enuff welcomed Troy Ave to Hot 97 with a beat from Scram Jones. Troy Ave took advantage and decided to put his raps to use. New York City coming soon.
In the wake of the controversy surrounding DJ Mister Cee, YN sits down with Ebro to talk how the situation will play out going forward, the public’s reaction and homophobia in the Rap community.
Fresh out da pen, Ja Rule was back at Hot 97 with Angie Martinez. In the first part of his interview He spoke on his time in prison. After the jump, he discusses Murder Inc.’s glory days, backlash, falling to 50 Cent and future endeavors.
Nigel Sylvester bunny hopped to 395 Hudson St for a sit down with Angie Martinez. During their interview, they called up Pharrell and talked about their Brooklyn Machine Works partnership.
Man, this drop from Masspike Miles is seriously smooth from start to finish. The Road Less Traveled totally delivers on that signature R&B vibe, and the production choices across these tracks are just insane. It honestly feels more complete than a lot of full-length albums out right now. Tracks like "Devoted" with Bun B and the title track hit different when you are just cruising around the city late at night. If you are heading out to grab the physical copy or hitting up a late-night listening session across town, trying to flag down reliable taxi services can sometimes be a real hassle, so planning ahead definitely saves the mood. Overall, this project proves why he is such a vital part of the Maybach crew. Definitely keep this one on repeat for a while.
