Sometimes success isn’t satisfying. J.Cole crafted his second album Born Sinner to right the wrongs of his Cole World: Sideline Story 2011 debut. No more stop-and-go single releases and pleading with Roc Nation for a release date, Jermaine’s got gold and platinum plaques on the wall which gave him the opportunity to do things his own way this time around.

J.Cole was out in Vegas for the iHeart Radio Festival this past weekend, and talked to MTV about his new video, “Crooked Smile”. The visual was based on the true story of Aiyana Stanley-Jones. Saddest shit ever.

Following his first iHeart Festival performance on Friday, Power 105 chatted with Cole backstage. In the brief chat, he spoke on performance with TLC, meeting Elton John and beating Yeezus in sales.
