Recession? What recession? Later today, Dr. Dre and business partner Jimmy Iovine will donate $70 million to the University of Southern California. The endowment will be used to create the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. With Fif SMS wireless headphones set to launch next month, Beats By Dre has followed with their wireless versions. Nigel D. was on hand during a private event yesterday in NYC where their new products were unveiled. Coming later this Fall.
Smartphone maker HTC is set to acquire a majority stake (51%) in Beats Electronics, LLC for $300 million. As part of the deal, HTC plans on improving the sound quality and incorporating Beats technology to their mobile devices.
