Gaga On The Menu.
Lady Gaga was across the pond for the iTunes festival two nights ago and debuted her collaboration,”Jewels And Drugs”. The song features, T.I., Too $hort, and Twista, but due to legalities, Tip was unable to perform his verse. Nonetheless, the track sounds promising and will be featured on her album ARTPOP later this year.
Due to creative differences, Lady Gaga opted out to be featured on Kendrick Lamar’s album. But since there’s no love lost, she released the original version with a video to boot.
Kendrick’s collabo with Lady Gaga wasn’t listed on the tracklist. After K-Dot briefly touched on the reasoning, Gaga explained on her site it was due to creative differences with management, but she hopes to release it eventually. I apologize to the fans that this situation with Partynauseous is confusing. To it clear it up I must explain this. When I collaborate with an artist i work solely with them, not with their camps or management. Its purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly […]
After catching Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Pitchfork Music Festival, Lady Gaga revealed that she will be featured on “Partynauseous” off her labelmate’s solo debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city. It’s been a minute since Gaga collaborated with a rapper, so the result should be interesting.
[vodpod id=Video.9675509&w=540&h=350&fv=] Before Lady Gaga became an international superstar, she was featured on Wale’s 2009 debut single “Chillin”. While on the MTV RapFix couch this past Wednesday, Wale spoke on the experience. On a somewhat related note, Gaga is expected to sell 900,000 copies of her new album Born This Way.
Wale, in this track, shows once again his ability to blend different genres. He doesn't limit himself to hip-hop, but enriches it with R&B nuances, creating a familiar sound. This fusion is not only an exercise in style, but serves to intensify the emotional impact of the song. And then there is his ability to rap. Wale is a master at playing with words, creating complex rhymes and modulating his voice to best express his emotions. In 'Blanco', his rap part is an explosion of words that intertwine with the melody, creating a hypnotic and relaxing effect. His ability to go from moments of pure energy to moments of deep introspection is what makes this track so engaging; it reminds me of when you would slow dance, hugging your woman.
