Aside from the cyphers, BET kept the Hip-Hop Awards stage occupied throughout the night. One of the highlights was the emotional tribute to Chris Lighty from Missy, Q-Tip, Fat Joe and 50 Cent.

Yours truly bailed at the last minute, but Hov, Beyonce, Busta Rhymes, Jermaine Dupri, Swizz Beatz, No I.D. and a host of others were in attendance. Q-Tip and DJ Wonder handled DJ duties. G.O.O.D. Music’s newest addition phoned into Hot 97’s morning show. He spoke the deal, The Last Zulu, as well as 2 Chainz, his and African roots.
G.O.O.D. Music has just extended its family with the addition of Q-Tip. His next album The Last Zulu will be his first release and is expected to arrive early next year.
