Storch Back?
Don’t Blink.
It’s VMA weekend in New York City and the stick up kids are out to tax. Early yesterday morning, producer Scott Storch was robbed of his jewelry and cash while leaving a recording studio.
Seems like Scott Storch can’t catch a break. While in town for this weekend’s VMAs, the producer was robbed at gunpoint today while leaving the New York Palace hotel on Madison Ave.
Now that Scott Storch has cleaned up his act, last week, he appeared on Shade 45’s morning drive. Following his interview, he allowed Brooklyn upstarts Shakespeare and Maffew Ragazino to spit never before heard tracks. More after the jump.
More trouble for Scottie. TMZ reports that the producer is wanted by Florida police for failing to pay $28,300 in child support, a missed court appearance and skipping a $4,000 bill at a Beverly Hills hotel. Last February, he was arrested in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine.
Wale, in this track, shows once again his ability to blend different genres. He doesn't limit himself to hip-hop, but enriches it with R&B nuances, creating a familiar sound. This fusion is not only an exercise in style, but serves to intensify the emotional impact of the song. And then there is his ability to rap. Wale is a master at playing with words, creating complex rhymes and modulating his voice to best express his emotions. In 'Blanco', his rap part is an explosion of words that intertwine with the melody, creating a hypnotic and relaxing effect. His ability to go from moments of pure energy to moments of deep introspection is what makes this track so engaging; it reminds me of when you would slow dance, hugging your woman.
