how the crowd was barely feeling(pause) dude….

little do they know that they heard classic tracks that night.

still even till this day jigga’s stage performance is a lil lackluster.

  5. Stan says:

I’m an admitted stan, but Jay, Ye, and the roots are the only rap acts worth paying money to see. Lackluster? Sorry, my friend, you’re an idiot. This is not subjective. This is objective truth. Please never comment on anything (food, tv, sports) again. you’re welcome

when you spit lyricism to a crowd they usually listen….

its not that they werent feeling it, they were but internally.

So, I am a 31 year old dude. Last night I saw Nasir in concert for the first time. At hunter college. In what was basically the equivalent of a high school auditorium. I have always been a big Nas fan, but last night was it.

There is no comparing him and Jay. Illmatic is a piece of art; this man had a crowd of maybe 1500-2000 people rapping along to EVERY word from the early songs. Look at the clip above; in the beginning Jay Z was a sideshow dude. He was not mentioned in the same breath as Nas or Biggie. Not even Wu…

So, that is it. Elliot; Jay Z is not the best rapper of all time. He is a good rapper who was able to take hip hop and become a pop artist…

Go and listen to Illmatic again…

Talk about coming a long way

  10. TY says:

..that one XXL article where Jay was talkin about how he had a diss song against Tupac where he couldve killed his career that he only performed once at the Apollo..but there were no cameras to capture the moment..i bet there is video but its bein held by the industry heads..i hope it leaks, i just would want to see how the world would react..

I got a chance to go to a couple of concerts with Jay and Nas. I actually heard Nas diss 2Pac AFTER he died! Jigga’s stages presence and show is way better than Nas’s. At the American Gangster show at the HOB in Chicago everyone was singing everything he did, and that was at least 8000 people. That’s the reason he was able to surpass Nas because he had the knack for combining both mainstream and underground worlds.

And just to show you that I’m not biased, my son’s name is Nasir!
