Tony Neal, DJ Neal, and Derek Juan of the Core DJ’s speak on the importance of the DJ and breaking new artists.

I made this point a couple days on Twitter. I know everyone currently has a hard on for Drake, but I feel more DJ’s need to step up to the plate. The public eats whatever you feed them, and frankly, I’m malnourished. There are tons several emerging artists, like B.o.B., that sling good product but aren’t getting their just due. Video didn’t kill the radio star, so please, don’t butcher me with bad music.

Disrespectful views at Tha Kang, T.I.? Nah, Ms. Banks you're out of line. Yeah Harris' Aussie ain't that dope but neither are you. I just saw you at Coachella and I wasn't impressed. You got the look, the swag, the tough talk but where are the tunes? "212" is alright but that's where it stops. According to Jay-Z's old board rules: You have no right to diss Tip. Look in the mirror and ask yourself: How many classic albums have you created? Are you on anyone's top 10 MCs list? Do you have any hardware on your walls, ma? Cliff is right. Keep him out of the girlfight. You're heavy in these tweets, but I hope you're finding time to create music that backs up your buzz. Or you'll soon be begone like Kreayshawn. You young ladies today bore me. *Turns up Mia X CD* No Limit forever!
The best things in life are free, but hopping on Hov's press conference stage uninvited is gon cost cha. Whatcha did was wrong! ⎯B.Dot
Yo is it or me or has “The Big Name Artists Co-Sign” replaced the “Mixtape/Radio DJ Co-Sign”. Becuase honestly dudes like Mick Boogie, Funk Flex, Green Lantern, Clinton Sparks etc. don’t have the same impact they used to have on hip hop at the end of the day they have to keep their boss satisfied. Like I don’t give a shit if such and such hosts your shit. More than likely its not good music. It was just you finding “that connect” or probably paid them some cheese to host your shit. Of course it helps to have a big co-sign but there are only like 10 big names that can legitimize you , Kanye, TI, Jeezy, Akon, Wayne, Dr. Dre, 50, etc. If you aren’t them than more than likely you can’t help up and comers become apart of the “On” hip hop scene. And they can only take you so far.I think its really coming back to the music. Because at the end of the day Drake makes 10 times better music than alot of these “New School rappers” it shows in his shows and how much they play him on the radio. And don’t say its all because of the Wayne Cosign because I believe he would be doing it with or without it. Bascially what I’m sayin is…If you make undeniably good music and market it the right way you will get your shine.
