I think Joe is SUPER-ILL, but can he deal with Meth? I highly doubt it. While it would be interesting to watch unfold in a non-violent way (please ya’ll, stop smackin’ people’s mans n’em, lol). Meth is a legend for All-Times, and there’s no reason why he couldn’t ‘keep-up’ with any thing Joe can deliver. I’m just sayin’.
Didn’t I just hear the other day that Vibe was in financial trouble? Maybe this whole episode will spur their sales. Straight up, Vibe is hardly a hip-hop mag and they’ve got 2 greats going at it over a silly little feature. A damn shame IMO.

I’ve been waiting to see Redman or Methodman unleash on one of these goof troop rappers I just didn’t think it would be Joe Buddens.

The Vibe list was wack, that list has never been on point. But Joe Buddens still shouldn’t even be in the top 50 MCS of today let alone of all times. And I’m going off of lyricism and being able to make a hip hop hit. The whole Boot Camp Click is better than Joe Buddens lyrically.

NOW, as for joey saying what he said about Meth, that’s completely HIS OPINION. but there’s truth to it because we’re talking 2009, as of TODAY, Meth is NOT gettin’ it poppin’ right now. but Meth is also a nice dude lyrically. i don’t see why he has to get all tough tony on the radio and wanna fight the dude. he’s not criticizing your hand skills man. get a grip. we all know how you & the wu get down. street cred is obvious. but if you really have a problem with what joe said, spit the 32, then have joe spit his, and let the fans decide. ain’t no one seeking attention here, joe has a online TV show, he posts videos up from his prospective. got me thinking joe done hit meth’s soft spot. quit trying to beat up a dude and show that you’re nice lyrically. quit complaining.

Ok 32 bar against 32 bar, right now, Joe would probably beat Meth. But, Joe doesnt know whats the basis off this list. It could have been the best overall rapper. That includes sales, popularity, etc. Joe really needs to get his weight up before he gets upset off of any list. His albums come and go and no one pays attention. He sounds the same on every song. Lyrically, hes nice. He doesnt put together the best albums. They are average with the exception of certain songs. You have to be able to put together a good album before you can even discuss where you belong in hip hop. He has no classic under his belt. He really needs to re-evaluate himself. Hes way too cocky at this point. He keeps it real and I like that. He just has to look at himself before he can comment about any one else.

Joe Budden is correct in technical skill and I agree with him this list is waaaaack. But he should know that these lists are highly subjective as any list would be. But lets break down what being a dope emcee is.
You need several ingredients not in any order but you need the following.
1. Technical skill- you got that is spades Joey you can spit a thesis on rap.
2. Charisma/personality- Method man has more charisma than Joe buddens who comes accross as just another great wordsmith. He has no real character outside of dope rapper i.e. canibus syndrome and the average listener needs more than that to hang in there. Plus your charisma is a huge part of being an emcee even back in the day.
3. song writing skills that reach other people.
Joe budden is missing the largest point.
1. Vibe isn’t a credible source, hell there are few if any credible hip-hop sources left outside of blogs and no XXL is hot trash too.
2. Joe Budden is what we call a lyricist in hip-hop i.e. a person who is a wordsmith or a word nerd in street poetry. Because in a true literature sense it is not about just being clever with rhymes it is about a feeling or emotion that goes with it.
Joe is dope on the flow but even his supposed heart felt stuff doesn’t connect like the grim asthetic set by meth and red. So Joe is a writer with no identity and his universe is small because it only appeals to a small segment of the hip-hop universe.

i always love meth and joey. I dont think it was a publicity stunt what joey said he speakin the truth. meth is a legend but joey would rap circles around him and meth knows it thats why he started talkin like he wanna fuck him up instead of just telling joey meet him in a booth like a real mc. even ed lover was tryn to calm meth down and explained joey just wanted to rap and ed was defending meth the whole. 1st. Someone from Vibe should explain how the rappers were chosen for that list.
2nd. I like Meth & Joe as rappers but Joe paints a better picture. He’s just more lyrical and intelligent with his rhymes.
Can someone please post some HOT LINES that Meth has said in his prime or now? Rae, Ghost, Inspektah Deck & Genius all had better wordplay than Meth!
Yes Meth had hot singles with banging beats but the lyrics weren’t great or even quotable. Method man has never made me want to rewind something he has said. EVER!
On the lyrical end of a powerful 32 battle I would say Joe Buddens all the way, deliverance meth, lyrical battle joe buddens. I respect Meth and Joe, BUT on a battle 32 BUDDENS hands down.
