New Music: Whitney Houston “Salute”

alt

“Don’t call it a comeback. I’ve been here for years.”

Hey, does Whitney say something about “you think that your shit don’t stink” here? You wanna talk about attitude? Well, ole girl got it on her album’s closer. Call me crazy, but this sounds like the big fuck you to B. Brown.

“It took me all these years/ To realize that you don’t belong here/ I can do better/ You say I’d never do better/ Yeah, right whatever.”

Sidebar: Tell Mr. Brown to blame Robert on this one. Here’s Kells demo version. And you say, Chi-City!

which one is Whitney’s version? Both sound like they were sung by a man. :/ U probably have mistaken audio files.

I can hear some auto-tune, ROTFL. I bet Whitney stans must feel like fools right now. Clive, you are such a hypocrite. Where are the receipts?

  3. Classicfan says:

I like it. I think the radio stations will eat this one up.

  4. gojira says:

    not bad

her pronunciation has gotten a bit odd but the voice is back

  5. dashing says:

Just me or does this sound like “You Ain’t Miss Nothin” by T.I?

IT’s still a great look for Whitney though.

  6. SpeakerHead says:

    @dashing

Hell yeah, Tricky Stewart straight bit Drumma Boy’s beat/production on “You Ain’t Missin’ Nothing” from T.I.’s ‘Paper Trail’. I mean he didn’t change a damn thing in terms of the melody or notes, just straight jacked his shit. I would be pissed if I was Drumma Boy, that’s some shady shit especially if he didn’t approve or know about it. Producers biting beats/styles now? Really?? (smfh)

  7. MusicMan1 says:

Does someone of her stature need to sing profanities to sell records and add to the laziness and inarticulacy of another generation?

    Where is the respect people?
