I heard that Em was in the running for the lead role in Jumper but was passed over because the director didn’t think he was a big enough name for the role.
I think Em might be hesitant to really tour again and/or be the lead in a movie since he credits the Anger Management 3 tour and the crazy 8 Mile schedule (in addition to Proof dying) with his drug problems going out of control. At any rate, I think the “dodging the spotlight” stuff works for him. Makes people want more because he’s not saturating the media with images of himself.

Ummm… he has a foundation that helps disadvantaged youth in Detroit. And with what he’s done so far (a PSA about Detroit during the Final Four, shot “Beautiful” in Detroit, the thing with Jimmy Kimmel), I’d say he at least brought some awareness to the state of Detroit.

Its not Ems job to save Detroit, he does quite a bit for the city and a whole lot of people eat off of him. Just because he is successful doesnt mean it is his job to save everybody. As far as him turning it down 50 is a douche for even bringing this up as its not a big deal. To sit there and say in the context that he did was BS. Perhaps Em didnt like the script and didnt want to do it. 15 Mil aint shit to Em, hes got enough money and wants for nothing. Em donates money,played in videos in Detroit,signed D12 and Obie.And he made sure the whole world knows where 8mile is.He also produced records for many artist in Detroit and he bought St Andrews hall so it wouldnt be closed down.As far as the movie,Em has said he will only do a movie if the script is right,not because it pays.

The director of Jumper didn’t cast Eminem because he director wanted a more “unknown” lead character. Complete opposite to what you said. He didn’t want people to think the movie was just being carred by star power like some films. Coz I mean come on, if Em starred in a new movie they’d watch that shit in the first showing.. How is “Hayden Christenson” a bigger name than Eminem?
