Over the phone, Mr. Graham tells 1515 that he wants his debut album Thank Me Later to be embraced by the common man.

“I can’t rap about the same things [as I did] on So Far Gone, so it’s just really trying to tell the greatest story that’s never been told, which is the story of a rapper’s come-up, and tell it without being corny or over bragging or sounding like, ‘Feel sorry for me.’ It’s going to be a very interesting record because I’m really going to have to dig deep and tell stories that people can relate to. But it’s kind of hard, because my life is at a very different place now.”

He used his Degrassi money to buy tracks, verses, hooks and features how you think he landed that Trey Songz feature for Replacement Girl he had video and everything and the vid was on 106&park and he had no deal. oh the song is terrible by the way never made the count down again after the debut. dude basically bought his way into the industry. A real come up story would be from a dude like J.Cole.

    What u smoking ?
“bought his way into the industry’

Fuck outta here! Like the producer of Degrassi just handed him the money. Nigga had to work hard for that shit. Spendin’ every dime on studio time. Niggas is always hating.
Drake had a video on 106& park with no deal. How many niggas can say the same thing. And the song was FIRE but people fronted on him. Nowadays niggas don’t give a fuck without a co-sign from another rapper. You can be the most gifted lyricist on the fucking planet and you still need another rapper to put his stamp of approval on it.

“how you think he landed that Trey Songz feature”
You didn’t really think dudes do appearances on other peoples album from free did you ?
In the words of Ed lover:

Come on Son ! Stop hating!

Hopefully he stops rapping about his family members… shit nobody wants to hear.

I’m all for Drake, don’t get me wrong but damn I miss real rap.. the *good shit* damn.. I reallyyyy miss it.

I just need for Drake not to fuck it up at this point, don’t come out with garbage, say somethign genuine but don’t rap about your family Uncle, Cousin, Mother, Father.. we’ve heard all that.. nothign can be worse than Lil Wayne always talking about shit and urine. like I need to hear that.

Times like this I miss Biggie, Outkast, pre BA Jay-Z and even the hitmakers Nelly, Ja Rule.. can we get a hit rap song? something everybody knows the words to? damn I miss good music.

you’re right.. not sure if you read comments ( i know i try not to ) but I’ve said as much J.Cole is the anti-Drake.they are polar opposites, but comprable skills.

we shall see.. J.Cole gets to see Drake come out first, this may end up being an advantage for him.

But I didn’t like his mixtape, but based on his freestyles.. I’m with it. He can tell a story, he can rhyme, he has verbs/metaphors/similies.. all I need is a reeally huge song from one of them.

See hwo everyone knwos the words to Jay, Biggie, Nas.. classic artists with skills but they had HITS. that’s numero uno.
