Rihanna Glamour Magazine Interview

Picture 6

“I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears.”

Although we’ll watch her bare her soul to Dianne Sawyer on Thursday, it was actually Glamour magazine that got Ri-Ri’s first interview since the Chris Brown ordeal. How’d they do it? They were smart enough to name her Woman of The Year. Good call, editors. Today, they posted it and she kinda sorta addresses the drama.

On the TMZ assault photo

It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women.

Message to young woman

Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.

She’s never been in love. (Sorry, CB!)

I hope I find love in the next 10 years—that will be pretty annoying if I am 31 and still have never been in love! But yeah, I’d like to be in a great place in both my personal life and my career. I still want to be doing what I love. Whatever that is in 10 years, I don’t know.

I feel like she’s straight up lying about “never being in love” those two were attached at the freakin’ hip…Chris has admitted it, I doubt it was a 1 way street

  2. HNIC says:

The more this girl talks the more i dislike her …like c’mon you turnin this whole assault thing into a pr event…word on the street is this beesh used to go round hittin CB maybe what happened that night was her gettin what she deserved….im jus sayin

  3. kaly says:

yeh her take on “domestic violence” seems sh*tty as hell, exactly what did you do besides stay quiet, ask to have the ban on chris brown taken away, and the sort?

id venture the reason girls might now still be afraid to talk about domestic violence from their bf’s is because their role model was silent throughout her entire ordeal

  4. she went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as a punching bag…

  5. Yas says:

LMAO.. Woman of the Year and then the BIG SCOOP! Nice work.

  6. J says:

Look! Both these kids CB and Rihanna have serious issues if they took turns beating on each other.
I read Rihanna also has that wild, violent streak in her. Which of course will now be downplayed, because she received the most damage that night. She admitted to beating her Brother in the face with a glass bottle. (Google it)
Hello, they both need counseling and shame on all the adults that were more concerned about record sales and photoshoots, than building two whole adults. Violence is extremely hard to shake when you’ve experienced or witnessed it growing up. With all that said I’m positive CB’s life was not in danger, in the car that night. There was no reason for him to beat on a woman like that, but again its what happens when you don’t get help for your anger issues!
If their PR people, family, record label Execs really had some balls and a clue they’d put these kids on blast while they go through their real healing process of counseling and dealing with what drove them to that night.
Instead we’re getting these half-assed interviews and videos ie “l’m ok, its cool, I didn’t mean it, who leaked that picture, hey my album just dropped!
They can help millions of others, especially younger kids going through the same issues. Seriously, we’ve had one ridiculous reallity show after another thrown at us by these music channels. So why not something positive for a change!? Yeah right.
Anyway I wish them both the best and life goes on…

She looks gorgeous, quite pretty!. I think she has not problem to talk about this inccident before, but im sure her manage and all stopped her. I think she has done well, this interviw may can help another victims of domestic violence, she has prove that if you want you can keep having a normal life after something like that. I like her so much now, more than before.

  8. SilkCityP says:

As they say there is 3 sides to a story! She definitely did something to the kid to provoke him…but that doesn’t excuse his immature behavior! Even with the Tahiry/Budden break up, I can easily see how that went down the drain. On 1 hand he was showing his woman off over the internet, and that was completely wack… yet on the other half, seeing the footage of her spazzing out, she is an immature, ghetto bird, stuck in that immature, ghetto ass mentality, which equals a fail!!! With Rihanna, she isn’t completely innocent in this whole thing, it will be interesting to see what comes out with the story!

  9. clos1881 says:

I don’t what chris did, but I think she provoked the situation. I hate how her and her team are trying to get sympathy album sales by waiting until her album drops to talk about her ”ordeal” that should let you know its about helping other women but capitalizing of the situation.

  10. teejay says:

I’m sorry, but there’s nothing a woman can do to deserve a beating like that. It’s on Chris Brown to keep his cool and be a man and do the decent thing, you know, not leaving the girl beaten bloody and battered everytime she makes him upset.

I don’t give a fuck if she provoked it, I can’t imagine anything she could have done to deserve what happened. Your natural instinct when someone makes you mad shouldn’t be to start swinging, especially on a woman.

  11. clos1881 says:

I go back to some real shit chris rock said its a reason to hit anybody you just shouldnt do it

  13. PaparaZZi says:

I love Rihanna, but I think it sucks that she is “speaking about the situation” and “speaking up for those who have encountered domestic violence” now. She is only doing these interviews because her album is coming out this month. All this time she has been running around New York and Paris for fashion week and she didn’t say a word then…shame on her management team, publicist, and anyone who is supposedly helping shape her career.

  14. […] thought Robyn told Glamour she had never been in love. Sigh. Here’s a sneak peak of the Sawyer interview. It’s […]

  15. jade says:

Okay she couldn’t speak prior because there was an ongoing criminal investigation. And her response is consistent with most victims of domestic violence. I find it amazing that so many people have sympathy for chris Brown as if he bears no resposibilty for his actions. Secondly she should not have to be the voice for Domestic Violence just because she was a victim. And she was a victim, this was nota fight and she lost. This was an assault brought on by an argument and the taking of a phone. Her actions may have been wrong but they weren’t criminal and she did not assault him. Furthermore just because people are joined at the huip doesn’t make them in love. Love has a different meaning for everyone. Chris Brown claimed to love Rihanna, but his actions were hateful.

  16. aida says:

guys you are so hard with her … calm down
we know this is just publicity but whatever she is a victim what she had lived was horrible
and she is reconstructing herself , Some people would never want to be in public after this but Riri’s did !

  17. Indiandrtobe says:

Wow I cannot believe all these negative comments I’m reading.
Do any of you know what it’s like to be a victim of domestic violence?
No one knows what it’s like to be in her shoes. Check out the 20/20
    interview if you haven’t already.
