Last night, Quincy Jones’ baby boy held a private screening for his documentary, The Carter in NYC. The event was hosted by Shade 45′s Angela Yee and film critic Ben Lyons. As Matt Dihel said in his review, the movie captures Wayne’s recording process and everyday life surrounding the release of Tha Carter 3. After the viewing, QD3 spoke on the picture and fielded questions from the audience. The Carter drops November 17th.

went to a screening the other night in Hollywood. strange film. For the most part, a disjointed piece of garbage replete with subtitle typos (who is macmain?) and fodder (hardly a single coherent moment) but almost worth it for the very revealing and awkward moments where we’re granted a glimpse into the alienating world of wayne’s addiction. classic junkie moments through-out. It’ll be interesting when he goes in to serve his jail sentence because he’ll have two options: (a) get sober, or (b) switch to heroin. wonder what he’ll choose…
