Throwback: LL Cool J On MTV’s Remote Control
Wednesday, November 18 2009 12:26 PM EST | Posted by: YN | Posted in: Blog, FocusI was saddened the other day when I heard news of the passing of Ken Ober. He was the host of one of MTV’s first non-video playing ventures in the late ’80s, a TV trivia game show called Remote Control. Adam Sandler got his start on the show and my 16-year-old hormones had a thing for Kari Wuhrer. I found a clip of one of my favorite eps featuring LL Cool J with bodyguard in tow, chompin’ on cookies and milk and havin’ a good ole time. It’s not as entertaining or funny as I remembered, but still a bug out to witness nonetheless.

Disrespectful views at Tha Kang, T.I.? Nah, Ms. Banks you're out of line. Yeah Harris' Aussie ain't that dope but neither are you. I just saw you at Coachella and I wasn't impressed. You got the look, the swag, the tough talk but where are the tunes? "212" is alright but that's where it stops. According to Jay-Z's old board rules: You have no right to diss Tip. Look in the mirror and ask yourself: How many classic albums have you created? Are you on anyone's top 10 MCs list? Do you have any hardware on your walls, ma? Cliff is right. Keep him out of the girlfight. You're heavy in these tweets, but I hope you're finding time to create music that backs up your buzz. Or you'll soon be begone like Kreayshawn. You young ladies today bore me. *Turns up Mia X CD* No Limit forever!
The best things in life are free, but hopping on Hov's press conference stage uninvited is gon cost cha. Whatcha did was wrong! ⎯B.Dot
Yoooo, this was my show!! This was a time before Collin Quinn came out of the closet, I hated Just Say Julie, Dennis Leary was still funny and Kari Whar did the fake porno’s on Cinemax… Ahhhhh, the 80′s, it doesn’t get much better..
RIP..Ken Ober!!
I used to love this show….may he rest.
