This is obviously Beans trying to show Fif his worth music-wise . This particular verse sounds like a throwaway verse that he had laying around and inserted Jay’s name into towards the end of it . The content wasn’t specific to Jay at all . The beats are trash , the content is less explosive than he claimed to have in his back pocket (“I could make Bey look at you different”) .
I echo the prevailing idea of most commenters . Beans needs to make SONGS . Total songs. 3 16 bar verses, with an 8 bar hook between ‘em . He needs to show us he still has it as an artist and THEN this won’t seem like such a marketing ploy . If he shows us he doesn’t need to diss Jay to get attention as an artist , that will actually help support the claims he’s making against Jay . Until then, he’s just proving Jay right (as a businessman, not a friend) for dropping an artist who’s too impulsive, temperamental, and lacks the focus to stay in the stu and make nonstop potential hits . He should be hungrier now than ever, where’s the bangers ? If he’s saving ‘em for an album , he shouldn’t .
