Sunday evening, The-Dream let off some steam via his Twitter account. The singer/songwriter fired back at Mariah Carey fans who accused him for her low album sales. Since it’s September release, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel has sold 354,619 copies.

Damn recently I’m noticin how sensetive the dream is..he sound like a kid throwin a fit..I’m glad he said he ain’t the best singer..dude knows he has weak vocals..and after seein him as the opening “performer” at the heart of the city I can tell u he is whack (maybe he would have got a Grammy nod if he could sing)…secondly he is s decent songwriter..nothin earth shattertin…he seems to write better songs for other pple then for himself..he is no neyo..mariah’s issue is that she trying to make music for the 106 n park crowd..rather than the amazing music that had made her a legend..stop walkn around in tube tops Mimi..only sayin it cause I grew up on Mariah and love her but let’s keep progressin..don’t be like r Kelly and wait till u 40 to b all “r&b thugged out

Just another example of how twitter is the worst thing to happen to artists . I’ve never seen so many stupid comments, or rants, or apologies afterwards . This constant and immediate access to the artists every thought (most are too immature to take some time to cool off before they tweet) just so happens to be accompanied by the lowest sales in recent music history . Coincidence ? I think not .
Keep this in mind . For the most part , the artists that are still moving the most units, are artists who don’t tweet . There’s something to be said for a little mystery, and mystique . Airing your every thought and feeling may be making these artists TOO accessible . ESPECIALLY when it’s usually whining, berating fans, or saying something stupid enough to be apologized for the next day SMH .
I have a pretty quick temper , so I don’t keep a gun in the house . That’s just smart. By the time I could get to something to do anything REALLY stupid , cooler heads will have prevailed . Maybe some of these artists need to use that same logic when it comes to twitter accounts and blogs .

ive felt like reality tv and twitter n youtube gives u all this access of stars lives n ruined the mystique of being a star. hence: the shitty state of the industry . also i have this love/hate thing with the internet for killing the music business.

The reason the record industry is going the way it is. cause theyre waisting money on bullshit artist. Most of all the music that is getting mainstream play is terrible terrible music.

Yea I know it’s someone at interscope that runs his website, myspace, and facebook. I was unsure about the twitter. A lot of celebrities use it but Em is illiterate when it comes to recent technology. Em don’t give a shit about no computer. Just his “two turn tables and a microphone.” Ha ha.
mariah carey doesn’t speak about her life on twitter, she uses it for promo. but u’re right if the artist are too accessible, people won’t mind about them.
btw it was a bad idea to choose dream & tricky stewart to produce all the album entirely.
