IM GOING TO START THIS ARGUMENT EARLY:
The album will end up being “just ok” but because of ALLLLLLLLL the anticipation people will treat it like the holy grail and claim it to be much better than it actually is.
No doubt that Dre is the biggest innovator in hip-hop, production wise. However, an album can only be so good. It doesn’t take that long to make an album. Like, he want’s it perfect, but there’s only a certain limit to go above any beyond…. This record ain’t coming out.
Dre is always in the studio because that’s his passion. This nigga will be in the studio when he’s 80 years old. That’s his life. He doesn’t care about Detox as much as the people do. Lack of motivation and you get wack shit. High standered artists won’t put out wack shit. So he’s jamming out every day.

It seemed like this shit would finally materialize now that Relapse 2 is on the horizon and 50 Cent’s album is already done. It’s the fact the new year just started and he nonchalantly dismissed Detox for the next twelve months that rightfully pisses people off.
The fact is Dre doesn’t really give a shit about Detox the way you think. To him it’s just about his legacy. He probably has a library of finished, decent tracks he could call Detox and drop it next month but that’s not what it’s about. He’s only going to release it when he gives a shit about it and simply feels like it’s time to get it out. The fact he doesn’t even write his own shit and he’s a notorious perfectionist makes this seem really artificial, because if this was truly his own album we would’ve heard this long ago. He’s simply making it to make the best hip-hop album made using the talents of everyone else with his name on it. That’s why it’s going to take a decade to hear it. Right now he’s doing his work producing tracks and doing what he always did, and Detox is nothing but an afterthought in the back of his head. He’s taking his time because he can.
You’ll hear this shit when Dre feels like it. He doesn’t care if people are waiting for this year after year because in the end, Detox is going to be how he wants when he wants it, and Dre only cares about what he thinks. I think that’s been proven. Just stop waiting for it and have no expectations because this dude doesn’t care about it nearly enough as we do.
Fair enough its going to be another year, but look at Dre 2001 whether you like rap or not everyone has that album “ITS A CLASSIC”, so hes under alot of pressure to make detox bigger and better than 2001 (If thats possible).
Plus Dre`s gone back with The Game for his R.E.D Album which people thought would never happen again, also few of Dres Detox beats were put on The Documentry album when that was produced.
