I love how 50 always says how irrelevant Nas is these days cuz his last two albums “Untitled” and “Hip Hop is Dead” ONLY went gold (keep in mind that Illmatic, It Was Written, I Am, Nastradamus, Stillmatic, God’s Son, and Street’s Disciple all went Platinum or Multi Platinum). I guess he thought he was invincible but the fact is that the public doesn’t buy music the way they used to cuz it’s so easy to get the material without having to pay. The fact is that Gold is the new Platinum and Platinum is the new Diamond. I have to agree a little with AG 3000. Ever since 50 stated “I don’t like Elliott”, there was a change in attitude when it came to this site and the G-unit association. It wasn’t drastic, but it was definitely noticeable to anyone paying attention.
It may have shipped gold, but it only sold 370K in the United States. Same with Rihanna. Technically she didn’t sell a million copies. But that’s what the company shipped, so they awarded her with the platinum plaque. Personally, I think it’s fucked up and it’s not deserved until the retailers purchase it.
