  1. I RUN THIS.. says:

    True indeed!

  2. Ben says:

How did it change the game? What does Drake talk about in his records? Serious man, enough quit hyping this motherfucker yo.

  3. zzz says:

co-sign@ en,i really don’t know how it changed anything, wat did he do dat hasn’t been done?

  4. Young Sha says:

Yeah, I really liked the mixtape. Esp the different sounds – beats wise.

  5. stephaniais says:

    Drake is queer

  6. Noles506 says:

Took the words right out of my mouth, what has he dropped that was…I don’t know, really original or different? 100% def. did not change anything in the game though…some of the commentary on this site are a joke…makes me think if they even listen to music.

  7. JayJay says:

    Changed what game?

  8. Moose says:

Some y’all buggin. While I will say him signing to YM is a slight knock, and to me tarnishes some of his chutzpa, that mixtape caught fire and did things what artists’ albums have never done. I can dig his style, and yes he needs some cleaning up to do but he’s not wack, nor is he the next coming of Jesus as some claim LOL. Give hie some time and let’s see what transpires. So I agree with YN on this, Happy B’Day “So Far Gone”

  9. TheMatic says:

It changed the game by expanding the realm of possibility & ways to make it in the music game.
The fact that we’re having this discussion based on a mixtape is case in point.
How many mixtapes come out each year?
Why is this one so outstanding?
It’s not “just” hype. It’s bigger than that. This is blueprint material.
Meaning, people could follow the same steps he took & possibly attain a greater level of success.
Not to mention the multi-dimension of his talent. All this from an actor from Toronto.(with NO label support)

    That’s game changing $h!t!!!

  10. AG 3000 says:

So Far Gone did change the game. Laughing at the comment above trying to hate on it. Must be bitter 50 Cent fans, hahaha!!!!

  11. AG 3000 says:

    I meant comments

  12. dat koon nigga says:

drake is a coon/jews that the tall israelis of the music business make from canada of all fucking places

they dont have kosher jigs that come from money in the USA ?

  13. Yeah says:

How did this change the game exactly? Because musically it was nothing that hasn’t been done before, I mean 808’s had been out for a while, and so had Day N’ Night, which are basically the same sounds Drake’s tape used.

  14. koa29 says:

Drake is part of that new-age “diary rap”..check J Cole/Wale too…they make songs every normal person can relate to. Not like Raekwon, who’s dope but he’s still rappin about coke like he still sells it….grow up….

  15. The Truth says:

Lol y’all sound so BITTER! No need to explain how it changed the game, if u don’t know by now ur a MORON!! Let’s see Grammy Look(From A Mixtape), Major bidding war(Mixtape), Co Signed by music biggest acts, Jigga, Em, Wayne, Mary J, Jamie Foxx, Lebron, Jezzy(Mixtape), marketing darling(mixtape), single handidly brought back excitement & credibility to our artform(mixtape), 150,000 in 1st week sales from a reissued mixtape(mixtape), carrying a whole country on his back(MIXTAPE), any more questions DUMMIES?

  16. JohnBlack says:

Co-Sign @ the truth. But there’s one thing he left out. and that the fact that Drake sold 369.000 copies of a mixtape that he released for free 6 months earlier. How many niggas can say that the even sold 369.00 copies of an album let alone a mixtape they released in 2009. Let alone a mixtape they gave away for free. Whether you like it or not Drake is part of the future of HipHop. He represents lyrical skill and combines it with huge mass mainstream appeal.

  17. RICH1 says:

Co sign 100 percent. Its funny when someone makes it and gets popular then everyone wants to be “different” and hate on drake..just for the sake of being different. I still haven’t heard a “wack verse”from drake..i’ve only heard good and great. I don’t know how you guys can say “he don’t talk about nothin”…he talks about real life issues on that mixtape..otherwise it wouldn’t have got such a buzz.

  19. RICH1 says:

no lyics, swimming thru the money , nemo????? his a will smith only white people are buying his shit

  20. eminemfan says:

it changed the game b/c it shows that even songs on a mixtape can get crazy airplay (Best I Ever Had, Successful..) Thank Me Later is gonna be awesome. Can’t wait.

  21. The Truth says:

SMH well you ‘Poor Righteous Teachers’ that are crucifying the kid are the minority!! Imma go out on a limb & say ‘Thank Me Later’ will be the biggest selling & most talked about lp of 2010, Kanye, Jezzy & Drake will set out on a massive tour, he will grip a few Grammy’s & u same shit talkers will have his lp just to bump it when ur trickin on dem hoes!! Lol..

  22. jumpman says:

u haters are trully delusional. of course this shit changed the game

  23. Bunz B says:

yall stay hatin on Drake…why?? i dont get it??

for one he dont lie about shit he says on a track hes came from a wealthy background and was a successful actor and he acknowledges that, give him credit where its due hes a grammy nominated artist that did it the time w/o a deal (everybody gotta deal i did it without ONE)

jumpoff and quit hatin, get money

    happy bday “so far gone”

smh @ you haters, if yall was in his shoes yall would be doin the same sh*t he doin

  24. Nonamer says:

It’s definitely one of, if not, the, most artistically cohesive “mixtape” since the birth of the outlet…the collage of sounds, styles, such polished production & songwriting at the time was indeed refreshing since every other rapper and they momma were floodin’ the net with freestyles, “street albums” and other petty ass shit….but truly speaking “So Far Gone” isn’t all it’s souped up to be impact-wise. He was buzzing steady well before its release, from collabos & touring with Wayne mainly…it was only until “Best I Ever Had” shot up the charts, did he become a household name and the subject of said massive bidding war…Wayne & BIEH, from what it seems, had more to do with his “game-changing” path to superstardom and success than the tape it and of itself..

  25. the one says:

Changed the game?? C’mon Son! I can honestly say that I knew Drake was going to do some special things with the release of So Far Gone but let’s be clear and real about why Drake is where he is today. No hate intended as I do respect his talent.
Now that being said Drake would not be where he is today on just a mixtape, he is there because he had his own money to invest in himself and pay people to do guest spots on his tracks. Pay for some little marketing , pay to have a great website, pay for Graphic artists to work on the website, pay to live the lifestyle before he even made it! Pay to have Dj play his music, Get his Degrassi fans to rally around him and support him on myspace and other social sites.
Now don`t get me wrong I rate Drake for how he invested his money into himself but let`s be real most artists are not in a position to do the things Drake has done to further his career . The ones that are in that position usually don`t know how to spend there money or don`t have the talent to take it to the next level.
Let`s not forget the most important reasons why Drake is so accepted : His family from the states has already a footprint in the music business being his Father and I believe his Uncle and the most important fact of them all “ HE`s JEWISH“
So please don`t paint a picture like this guy just made it on talent and hard work as you`re giving starving artist out there an unrealistic view of how he made it in the music industry.

This comment has no hate intended as you can have all of the same opportunities as Drake did and not have the talent or the skill to make things happen as he did.
So he still does deserve peoples respect but please don`t make it seam like this guy blew up on just the making of a great mixtape as what he really gave people was a fully mixed and mastered album for free that he payed for.

  26. the one says:

Oh did I say pay to have all his tracks mixed and mastered by the best in Toronto… Any artist that is in the business knows that this is one of the most costly procedures for a any starving artist!
Keep doing your thing Drake I aint mad at u! But I have to say I respect his business talent more then his musical. Nuff said!

  27. CaniBlog? says:

I remember when people were telling me that Soulja Boy and MiMS were the future of rap idk bout yall but perfer Drake running this rap shit.

  28. Anthony G says:

take a real singer an put them up to drake who will come out well i’ll tell you what ever singer you put up there he cant sing he is okay when it come to rap but even then theres no heart in it no meaning
