Diddy Wants To Buy UK Soccer Team ?

The Sun reports that Diddy has his eyes set on the U.K. soccer football team, Crystal Palace F.C. The struggling franchise is in the red and were docked 10 points by the Coca-Cola League Championship because of their debts. If all goes as planned, Puff plans to bring the team to the Premier League.

  1. On behalf of the UK… if Diddy does this… he is outta is fucking mind. That’s 10 times what they are worth for one, not too mention the fact that they are SHIT.

  2. Tego says:

It won’t be $360million. Don’t know where that figure’s come from. Would be a solid investment though. London club, a lot of history, a lot of prestige.

  3. Frontrunner says:

Whoa..this is big but he MUST do his due dilligence on this…take your time Puff..

  4. mccready says:

£360million is a lot especially for Palace. And yea they’re shit BUT he’ll be buying them for the investment, to build them back into a Premier League team and make money on them, smart business people are starting to realise it’s better to buy a lower league and build them up into a Premier League team…

  5. llll says:

Don’t do it man, that team is crap, u will lose, and u will be broke, i know that team, its not good at all…

  6. TEFLON DON ! says:

where did rapradar got that inflated number from because crystal palace F.C is worth less than $30 million dollar and beside it’s is a bad investment to invest in crystal palace F.C

  7. mccready says:

Oh and it actually says “is planning to splash some of his reported £360million on the Selhurst Park side”…

  8. B.Dot says:

Ur right. The way the Sun worded it was wrong. I fixed. 720 million would be nuts!

  9. Young Nas says:

This team isn’t worth that amount of money Diddy! If I was him I would really consider other options to acquire a better team.

  10. Dan says:

Firstly, The Sun is a tabloid FFS. Secondly, Palace are just fucking awful. No way will any top-class talent will want to come there in at least the next 5-6 years. And lastly, you need several hundred millions to run a successful soccer/football team. Diddy is ballin’ but not like that.

  11. David A says:

Am I the only guy who noticed he’s holding an Everton shirt in that photo?

  12. Mokh says:

    WTF
he’s really crazy, he thinks football is that easy.. if he thinks thaat takin a team to premier league is easy, then he’s really stupid!

  13. rAND says:

Is Diddy buying the team outright with his own moola or would he put together a group of investors to make the purchase?

  14. NotYourAverageJoe UK says:

I’m a fan of Crystal Palace and the numbers quoted are wrong. the $360m figure is his personal fortune, and he will only need aboru £15m to buy the club. The reason he has approached us as opposed to one of the top teams is that we are available for relatively cheap due to financial troubles, and are a London team with a huge catchment area for support, but the area is mainly of ethnic minorites (me, for example) who tend to ignore the team in favour of pretending they follow Arsenal/Chelsea/ManUtd/Liverpool etc. Diddy on board would change that.

Any success would not come overnight though. It would take a good 3-4 years (investment-depending) for anything to take shape, due to the bad state we are currently in. Either way, I’m as excited as a motherfucker.

  15. mmkayy says:

lmao Crystal Palace…..? does Diddy even watch football ?

*applauds B.Dot for crossin out soccer & gettin it right

  16. underground mc says:

Does this make diddy..AKA PUFF.. a homeosexual still?

    yup

  17. Interscope Employee says:

buy a soccer team = GREAT IDEA
but this team? not so sure, but what do I know

  18. chc says:

puff that is an investment that takes more than money to make successful. i dont know the underlines of the contract but you mite be getting gott. soccer takes knowing talent and its not like basketball where somebody can run it for you, you as an owner have to have grown around it. that sport like rugby holds a racial tone as well as proper locating. you must know your way around uk and get major love, to be doing so. not to say jay smart but he still rather deal with the nets than deal with a new barclays soccer franchise. shit i dont know how cool you are with michaal jordan but for over 300mil that mite have been a better venture than soccer. BOBCATS GET MY VOTE ON CHANGE TO FLYERS.

  19. wickwickwack says:

everybody should know by now that investing in a soccer team is not a great idea …it makes no sense doing this in the coke league

  20. […] cool in the U.S. If Beckham couldn’t do it…Diddy can. Via: RR Related Posts:First look of Diddy in “CSI: Miami” role as […]

  21. mike says:

    it’s probably around 30 millie
    as maximum !!!
but if he do dat and put the the team in premier ligue that will be a great thang, then he will sell the team to an arabie soudian dude around 50 millie !

  22. drast says:

Diddy’s holding an Everton jersey, not Crystal Palace. wtf?

  23. changeclothz says:

Is Diddy even worth the said amount………….

  24. Shawn says:

He would more than likely be using his celebrity to gain popularity and income for team.
I would guess him a minortiy owner with minimum to no finacial commitment upfront on his part. His notority and ability to sell jersey, (outside of the London market) and make soccer “sexy” is major.
He sells “Lifesyle” and his popularity is worth it’s weight in equity.
And if he’s being advised to buy this team outright or make majority ownership… He needs to rethink this…he would be better off being part owner of an NFL or MLB franchise..

  25. Soccer Tips says:

Is this dude serious? Crystal Palace is probably one of the worst clubs he could even think of buying. Then again maybe with his help they could get a little further, but he best know that he’s gonna have to buy some new players too.

  26. NotYourAverageJoe UK says:

He’s holding an Everton jersey because the photo is from an interview on BBC Radio 1 a couple years back. He hasn’t actually made any contact with Palace hence no photo-op like the one above, so far he has only declared his interest

  27. Ekiti says:

Good luck to the dude if he decides to invest in an english football team.
